Tru-Tungsten worm weight

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried these?  What is the difference between using these or a lead worm weight?  Is the action different?  I suppose these would be the way to go if your picky on colors.

they are made of tungsten which is denser than lead, meaning a 3/8oz lead weight is much bulkier than a 3/8oz tungsten weight. Tungsten also transmits vibration more than lead as a result of being denser.

Yeah, what Dan said!

like said above... Just better feel with tungsten and much smaller for the sizes... but with it comes a price  ;)

Dan basically hit the nail on the head. Tungsten weights are louder, smaller, smoother so they slip into cover like grass a lot easier, and they increase sensitivity.

Fishing tungsten is like riding bareback.

Exactly,

I tried Tru-Tungston a couple months ago and I couldn't believe how much more sensitive they were than my lead weights..  Ever since I throw nothing that isn't Tru-Tungston

I don't use them because of the colors, I just stock up on Black and Green Pumpkin, that pretty much covers everything I use. Word of caution tho, DO NOT buy a pack unless you a ready to replace all your lead weights with tungsten, because they are that good. It is a world of diffrence sensitivity wise.

I have pawned off all my lead weights to my fishing buddy, you can feel EVERYTHING! Add braid and a GLX and you might as well have a camera at the end of your line.
