Do any of the other states have an early dove season?Ours starts tomorrow on the 1st, im planning on going this weekend

We can't shoot doves here in ny just rock doves aka pigons

Dove season opens up in many states across the country tomorrow. It has been said that more shotgun shells are fired on September first than any other day of the year. This will be my first season in WV. I'm not expecting much, but I'll be out there.

Our season starts today but the closest place to dove hunt is at least 30 minutes away, not driving that far to dove hunt. I used to live in the middle of corn fields with a pond and powerlines next to them. I could walk out the back door and jump dove out of that field all morning and night, man I miss that.

I didnt fire a single shot Sept. 1st The temperature was 103 so that kept most of them away.

I went out a couple days after opening day (after a couple coolers days) and me and a buddy got 25.

The field I hunted opening day had a little over 350 in about 3 hours of shooting. It wasn't quite as much action as last year but still not too bad.

We were able to get 4 geese that morning, one with a band. Should of had more, but waiting till the last minute to get everything ready left me with the wrong shells.

Looking forward to wood ducks Saturday morning.

yep, ares started last month im pretty sure, ill double check tomorrow.

Our's starts on the 1st of Oct. hopefully I am in good enough shape to make it out to the dove fields, I reloaded a case about 1 month ago with my special dove load
