Spinnerbait blades - brass -vs- nickel

Featured Replies

In general, under which conditions would you choose a polished nickel blade or a hammered brass blade?

(given otherwise identical spinnerbaits)

just curious.

I use brass on cloudy days and also in muddy water nickel i use mostly on sunny days hammered gives u more surface for reflecting light and i think it also makes it sound a little diff.

Polished Gold Blades Always  :D

sunny days, silver blades

cloudy days, copper blades

clear water, silver willow leaf

dirty water, copper or brass colorado

thats the general guideline for me.  actual results may vary.

another way to look at it or think of it is...the more visibility the bass has, the more you want to play to its sight and not its lateral line.  The dirty or darker the water or conditions, the more you want to play to its lateral line and less to its sight.

What KenDammit28 said.  You snached the words right off mty keyboard.
