Bearing Retainer Ring

Featured Replies

Well it finally happened. I was working on my Daiwa Fuego baitcaster and the reatianing clip that holds the bearing in the left side plate decided to take flight. Other than calling Daiwa does anyone know a source for the clips. I have several different types of reels and they all appear to be pretty much the same as far as functioning with some just having different shapes. I would like to be able to stock up on some clips. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom

Those bearing retainer clips are not anything your ever going to find at Menard's, HD, Lowes, etc.

Each reel mgf uses a different wire size for their retainer clips.

Contact Daiwa direct and order a few, sometimes if the people at the parts desk are in a good mood they will send them nc.

But for parts like those always go to the mfg...........

If you know where it might have landed and haven't ran the vacuum yet, get a magnet and see if it will pick it up. I read somewhere to take these out while working with your hands inside a plastic bag, white in color so it's easy to see, and if it flies on you it won't go far that way. It's either in the bag or it flies out and hits you in the eye. Either way, you know where it is. Wear safety glasses. :P

You can bend a staple into a square as a temporary fix, while you wait for the proper part to come from Daiwa.
