Lazer Trokar Hooks

Featured Replies

These look like they will put gammies to shame!  They look awesome, but at $9.99 for a 5 pack, somehow they seem out of my price range.  If i can afford them sometime, I'll definitely try them.

Also, how do you keep your hooks from rusting?  I keep mine in Plano boxes and they always seem to have surface rust after just one or two outings.

Owners put Gammies to shame.

Put those silica pack things that come in shoe boxes in your tackle box to absorb moisture.

10.00 a pack of 4-5 hooks.  They've got to charge that to pay that pro staff.  I'll check them out when they're on the clearance rack.

$10 for 5 fancy Eagle Claws?  :D

The reaction innovations bmf hooks (which these look A LOT like) have sold recently on ebay for as much as 12 dollars a pack so I guess people that really liked those hooks might not have a problem paying that for them.

I can say that I have about 5 packs of bmf's left and I wouldn't sell them for 12 dollars a pack...they are the best flippin' hook I have ever used BY FAR!

Not that I plan on buying any of these hooks, but if I eventually did I'd definitely wait a while to hear angler's feedback. At that price point I'd expect them to last several times longer than other manufacturer's hooks.

BTW, the Reaction Innovations BMF hook is being sold by another company under a different name. It's the exact same hook Gamakatsu made for R.I. It's now called the Punch Hook by Paycheck Baits.

Gene and I had a chance to check out the entire line of Trokar hooks at ICAST, and I must say, these things are awesome.  They're the sharpest hooks I've ever encountered.  Simply put, I was a little nervous handling them - like you would a handful of loose razor blades.  They're scary sharp.

There's an "additional" keeper hook on the backside, created by material akin to shrink tubing.  It's a little odd looking.  It's designed to hold your plastic lures in place.  It's an interesting concept.  I'm curious how well it works.

They look and feel pretty solid too, but only time will tell if they'll hold up to an angry 5-pound smallmouth!

That's just too expensive for me. I honestly don't feel like I lose or miss many fish because my hooks aren't sharp enough.

R.I. used to sell the keeper as an add on to the BMF hooks.

Did the keeper look like these?
