Mike's is in Canada, and shipping might be a pain for you.

They should have parts for you, just call 1-877-577-0600

Whether or not you goto Mikes (expensive parts and costly international shipping) or the Factory.

The CU201BSF was discontinued back in 1997. When the factory stops production of a series they also stop production of all parts not interchangeable with the newer series being released.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!! :fishing1:

They still service Curado B series. Here's a list of the reels they no longer service: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/Repair_Services.download.-mainParsys-0021-downloadFile.html/PNLA%20LIST%202011.pdf

That doesn't necessarily mean they will have the part(s) you need. You'll never know if you don't call them. I've gotten parts for 20 year old reels from a couple different manufacturers.

Yup, just had my CU100B serviced by shimano last year and they practically replaced all the internal parts. They definitely still have those parts for some of the discontinued reels.

They might not be selling them. It may also be a case of it being cheaper to have them do it, then pay for the parts and shipping and DIY.

Very true, it's much cheaper to have them do it. They only charge me $35 for everything including shipping. If I compute for the cost of the parts:

Pinion gear, drags, 3 bearings, main gear and anti-reverse bearing it would easily cost me more if I did it myself.

Most parts for the Curado 200BSF are compatible with Castaic parts, so as long as the Castaic is in production you´ll have a bunch of parts.

J that PNLA 2011 list, is the list of reels they no longer service or repair (Reel models we no longer service and/or repair) re-read the site page.

And what part of, "Here's a list of the reels they no longer service:" do I need to reread? You need to reread what I said. Parts are available, I ordered a line guide and some bearings for a B just a few months ago.
