Featured Replies

Saw a video on youtube for these lures and was just curious if anyone has used any of them and your thoughts?

Another knock-off Beaver.

How "special" can it be?

I'm pretty curious about the trick worm. With the hair on the ends it might be a good wacky rig bait.

I ordered a pack out of curiosity.

I bought a rabbit hair pitching jig once. Mine didn't last very long in the tackle box after getting wet. The hair stuck together and simply didn't flare in the water, and some fell out.

Was it from this company or just in general?

Jig tiers such as Paul Jensen and Craig DeFronzo have been marrying plastic and hair/fur/feathers for years... reference Paul Jensen's Bou Tube. I've been known to play "mad scientist" and tie a few creative Frankenstein lures in my own lure laboratory, so I don't look upon these "commercial" creations as innovative or new.

At times they can be quite "special". As lively as hare and marabou is, lures of this type are at their best when fished in an extremely subtle manner trying NOT to accentuate the movement.

My largest fish to date (23.25" L x 21" G) was on a spinnerbait I made with a Zonker Strip (rabbit fur) tied in as a trailer and a sillicone skirt. I haven't used an all rabbit fur lure yet, but it does intrigue me.
