wondering if anybody uses these to give me an opinion...

how are they in cover? do they deflect good? it seems like the bill on them is not real big to deflect well....

i've got a buddy who is offering some of these to me for a little under their retail price...he just says he has too many cranks..(don't we all). he has all sizes...are they worth the $$?

I have never used spro cranks but I have used their swimbaits. Everything I have bought has exceeded my expectations. They all have quality components and perform as expected. As far as buying baits third party there is nothing wrong with it. Just be careful not to pay to much. I look at it like this... Bass tackle depot, Tackle warehouse and other shops have sales several times a year. 15% discounts off retail are not uncommon. Keep this in mind when deciding what's a fair price.

There lipless cranks are my personal favorite the Aruku Shad. Have not used the LJ series much, but have heard good things.

The Aruku shads are great, and I like the Little John's as well. I think all of their lures are worth the $, and if you can get them cheaper, by all means do.

Have 3 of the Little Johns and have fished them off and on since spring. Really like their action but I yet have to catch anything on one.

Have done really well with the swimbaits they make.

I did alright with the little john I had until I got bit off this summer with it. They have good action but I really had it during the wrong time of the year to give it a fair test.

Spro makes quality baits.

I have only used the Aruku Shad the last few years. It seems the more beat up the bait gets. The more fish it catches. I will say that if it didn't catch fish with almost all of the finish missing. I would skip over them. The finishes just doesn't last long.

The Little John baits are one of the best series of baits ever built for deflecting off cover and banging structure. They're near impossible to hang, and they cast like a bullet. I've got one that has caught in excess of 500 fish, and it still has the majority of the paint left.

The Spro Little John is awesome. It has a small, dense profile that you can cast a mile. It has a great action and I catch a lot of fish on them. They have essentially pushed my Norman/Rapala/Strike King crankbaits into backup duty.

One issue I have had with them is that the stock hooks can sometimes get tangled. I fix this by putting a shorter (#6, 2X) Mustad treble on the back.

The little john is a great looking bait, casts a mile as was mentioned, and is highly durable. Oddly enough, I have yet to catch a single fish on it though. I have a bandit 100 in the same color, same size that crushes in the same spot. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
