I'm trying to make some chatter style baits, 1/2 oz, and I have a couple of questions. What size split rings would I use and what size duo lock snaps? I also found some square blades, could I use tin snips to shape them?

I use size 2 split rings and snaps. As far as shaping them, it might work, but you may have to play around with it to get to run properly.

Maybe you could take the blade off a regular chatterbait and lay it on the square piece and just cut around the edges of it? That would get you close at least.

I did see the pre cut blades but was curious as to if I could use snips so I could play around with shapes.
