What Line?

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one who uses Trilene XL still? I have never had a problem with it. My knots are always tight and strong, never have broke my line on a fish or structure. Never have memory problems either. What line do you use and why?

Flourocarbon, and braid.

I prefer Seagaur Invizx for my flouro and Seagaur Kanzen for my braid.

Nah.. you're not alone. Trilene XL red box is still in our tackle kit. I use it...in a pinch. Mostly 4 Lb during beginning of trout season when the stockies are not too discriminate yet.

I do have a Curado full of PLine CX which is a flurocarbon copolymer. Best of both worlds with standard mono plus low vis of fluro, but doesn't get to be a slinkey as fast as full fluro.

Whatever works for you and is your comfort gear. No reason to fix what's not broke!

I have it on a couple reels, for the price I like it.

Try some other lines and see what you think. Most lines are inexpensive,

give these a try: P-Line, Izorline, Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Sunline Super Natural.

I think you might like them all a little more than XL.

I am fine with fresh Trilene but it will get stale in a short period. I hate P-Line mono and copolomer, haven't tried their braid. I love sunline and seaguar is decent. I am going to try McCoy Mean Green next year on a setup next year. Power Pro is a nice line as well.
