BMF hooks rebarb

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can buy he rebarbs for the BMF hooks. Or how can I  make them

It is just shrink tubing, you could make some easily, but I have found that you can thread a Hitch Hiker on to the shaft of the hook and this will hold a bait much better.

The hooks are now being sold with a different name. Paycheck Baits is now offering the SAME exact hook that Reaction Innovations is no longer carrying.

Gamakatsu makes the hooks. They also sell the rebarb.

go to home depot or lowes and get some heat shrink tubing in the electrical section.  The size you need is 3/32.  It comes cut in about 5 inch sections and one pack will do a bunch of hooks and its under 2 bucks.  Cut one end flat and the other at about a 45 degree angle.  Its really simple and works great.  I do it on a lot of different hooks I use. It is what the bmf keeper is.

Can you show a picture of the hitchhiker trick?

What he said.

Will try to post a picture tonight.

Thanks for the help guys!!!

I use the bigger size hitch hiker and thread them on the hook from the bottom then take a pair of pliers and attach to the top. The first few you do are tough but after a few of them it is very easy

Nice! I like that a lot. Thanks for sharing. :)

I got tired of tearing up sweet beavers without even catching a fish we tried the owener twistlocks first but I really like a straight shank hook better so this is what came out. It works really good, the only problem is it takes a little time to thread a bait on it but once it is on it is on, I can usually catch 4 or 5 fish on a bait before having to change.
