I got some 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits and jigs, series 5, 6, and 6XD crankbaits, and carolina rigging stuff. Deep water is pretty much untouched around here. All you deep water guys keep posting good info for me to use! Especially talking about what to look for on your electronics.

I have used both and they both catch fish. Ocho is super soft and costs more. The shimmy stick costs less and isn't as soft. I could not use the Ochos wacky rigged because they would tear off of the hook on the cast. For that reason I like the shim-e-sticks better.

I know how you feel. I emailed them about it yesterday and they are definitely keeping it to themselves or at least they wouldn't tell me.

It is just fine if you get value priced rods. I did this and was happy for two years. I had some extra cash so I decided to try an expensive set-up. Worst idea I ever had. Now I'm in the middle of upgrading all my rods and reels. Don't touch the higher priced gear! I have only heard good things about the bucoo rods.

Anybody tried the new insert free weights?

I have a 7' MH Tour KVD crank rod and I really like it.

Is it possible to take the cork handles off of a rod and install EVA foam split grips?

Rage Tail Craw=Most Versatile Soft Bait of All Time I use it for topwater, swimming it on a weighted hook, jig trailer, and t-rigged. My favorite way is on a 3/16 ounce weighted Mustad hook. I can buzz it, swim it, and let it flutter to the bottom. I buzz it so much my dad calls it the Crazy Craw Frog. The Alabama Craw color looks like a crawfish, bream, and a frog.

I was using a swimbait as a trailer and took the trailer hook off. I think the trailer helped get me bit in the clearer water. I put the trailer hook back on there and don't think it will hurt the action. I'm also gonna start setting the hook nice and hard on my spinnerbait fish.

Been losing a lot of spinnerbait fish lately. How do y'all like to set the hook? How do y'all work the rod to get the fish to the boat?

I use the BPS hook weights and like them.

I havent used the Spro frog or the Tru-Tungsten but I dont see how they could possibly be better than the Snag Proof Phat Frog. I had only used the H2O Express frog before this one and they took on water like crazy and I didnt like that at all. Like someone said earlier, if a frog is too hard put it pack in the package and leave it on the dashboard for a few days. Get one white and one black Phat Frog and your good to go!
