What are some of the most productive spots in South Florida? I'll start by saying imo its the Interceptor Canal

Public lakes, these rank pretty high in my book.

Private lakes, that's a totally different ball game. In my opinion, private residential lakes are the most productive bodies of water.

Agreed. Though not all of those private lakes are created equal. Some have FAR better fishing than others.

I'd add Lox into that list also.

Lake X has alwyas produced numbers, but usually small in weight.

Lake Y is excellent for BIG BASS, but you might only get 1 or 2 a day. 10lbs and over.

Lake Z is my favorite. It's located south of Daytona and north of Key Biscayne.

The previous posts pretty much sum up the better spots in Palm Beach county.

As good as Okeechobee/Lox are, Bassn Blvd got it right. The most productive spots probably aren't going to be posted on an internet board. I've caught ~50 bass over 5lbs this year and ~30 of them came from a golf course pond that 99.9% of the population has no chance to fish. That's why it's so productive....

Not that it isn't fun, but these community ponds are probably the easiest form of fishing there is. ! rod, 1 lure and 4-5 fish an hour isn't bad, catching quite a few nice fish with very little effort. Never really had the same success in bigger bodies of water, I grew up fishing Lake St Claire.

While I stopped fishing the canals years ago I used to love the L 67 C or better known as the Magic Canal.

This time of year until about March those big fish would bed on the coral rocks and I would go down there and have a blast, it was also a very different canal the way it was cut into the flats absent of the levee close by giving you a much different feel. I always thought it was a beautiful canal.

That smelly old guy that made the spoons used to camp out there, his spoons were pretty good.

I think as far as the best place, time of year would have to be factored in.
