$50 wal-mart gift card burning a hole in my pocket

Featured Replies

Got a $50 gift card to wal-mart for my birthday yesterday and it's burning like baitmonkey fire in my pants! ;)

What do you guys recommend I blow it on?

All suggestions welcome

what type of stuff do you already have and what do you need(want ;))

i'd suggest some cranks or spinner baits you need, or some soft plastics.

I don't know about your local wally world, but mine has been clearancing a bunch of stuff.  Here are some deals that I got.

-Zoom baby brush hog for .50 a pack

-7" bass assasin for .75 a pack

-rapala x raps $3 each

-rapala forceps and pliers $5

-rebel hardbaits (crayfish, bumble bug) .75 to $1.50

Those are some insane deals...if yours is clearancing stuff too....$50 will go a long way.

strike king jigs. the bitsy's are 1.47 each. the bigger ones are 1.74. hooks and line. pop'r

As said, it all depends on what you need.  If you need cranks; get a few Rapala DT series.  If you need jerkbaits; score a few X-raps.  Worms?  Culprits and Power worms always work.  Terminal tackle?  Get some Gammy hooks, reel magic, line, etc.  Our Walmarts are closing out Wave Worm lizards, and they are .50 cents a pack.

I've heard the rumor that wal-mart is getting out of the fishing business, but i find it hard to believe with their huge involvement with FLW. Maybe there's some truth to it though since they are going clearance crazy.

I don't really need anything I don't guess. I don't have a ton of stuff like a lot of the guys here, I guess I was wondering what somebody would buy with that.

I'm a big picture guy too so I'm thinking rod/reel combos or the like instead of a bunch of small stuff ;)

yeah I got a bunch of flw finess worms, lizards, and tubes for a quarter a piece in the clearance area.  $50 would fill up a whole cart. ;)

As far as the Walmart clearance I just picked up a Mann's deep diver for .10. They had some Roadrunners on clearance as well as some boat accesories. They also had a Mitchell 308x for $11.88 ( not a great reel but for crappie or bluegill maybe).

Their reel selection is pretty lame for nicer stuff. They do have a Symetre spinning but god knows how long it (or they) has been their. Maybe if they have some decent ones at your place to put the $50 with some more to get something a step up fom what you have. From what I've seen I wouldn't waste money on Wallyworld combo's they are all pretty low-end.
