How many of you guys use these?  I've used a few and prefer them over the round ones.

Do you guys put them on the hooks of a crank too or just the line tie?

I use them mostly for the line tie,  I feel they are a little bit more sturdy then round split rings and it seems there is less of a chance of your line slipping out.

I use them on the hooks also.

What size do you guys/gals use for the line tie?  I want to switch out to ovals, but cannot find them local.  I have found them in the BPS catalog, the price is good, but I do not know what size to buy. They list the size, but I have no reference to how large they actually are.  Thanks.

The smallest size is just a bit less than 1/4". I use these for the smallest and lightest cranks. I use the 2 size for all the rest. I'll soon have these on all my cranks that see regular use.

Never thought about using them for hook hangers. I can see two results using oval rings for the hooks. 1. the hooks will be farther from the body of the crank, and may result in a few more hook-ups. 2. the hooks will be farther from the body of the crank, and may result in a few more hang-ups.

Ghoti,  Thanks.  Those from BPS are the one's I was looking at also.  

I changed over all my round split rings to oval simply because they are easier for me to work with when changing hooks.
