Rage Tail Grub

Recommended Posts

I just picked up some Rage Tail grubs in watermelon and they look pretty nice. I plan on putting them on the back of my swimjigs, and on an open hook round ball jig head for smallies. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Killer on the Tennessee River!

I have yet to catch my first smallie, How do you rig yours up to go after these bass? do you use the same color?

They say these things are fighters all the way to the boat and out of all my years of fishing here in Va. on the Shennandoah river( or anywhere for that matter ) I have seen them caught but I just cant seem to get one on.

Standard rigging on a 1/4 or 3/8 oz jighead. I don't think the color is particularly important,

so just pick your favorite. What is important is line diameter. I use both Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4

and #6. In clear water use "green". For stained water "purple smoke" blends best.

THANX !!!

I look forward to giving that a try.

Has any walleye guys/gals used these grubs yet?

I have walleye here in Va. at the lake I fish a lot, Had a few on before but have not landed one yet, but grubs in general seem to work pretty good for these guy's, can't wait to try these on them.

I'm gonna be trying to find some this weekend. I do well on single tail grubs around here. It's gonna be hard to pull away from the fat albert I was using all year with excellent results.I caught more smallies on them than anything else I've owned so far(with tubes being a very close second).

When did they come out with the grub? Any pictures?

The Rage Grub is fairly new to the market. I have used them a lot, and can tell you, they are very productive. I use them in the rivers for smallies on plain jig heads, and on a drop shot. They are also killer on a swim jig. Use the cut-tail feature, and use a white one on a Sexy Shad swim jig, or a Watermelon Red on a Bluegil swim jig, and you are in business.

Sounds like I am going to have to give them a shot. Thanks. B)

How do these rate versus the Yamamoto version? I've caught hundreds of SM, spots, and LM on those but wouldn't mind giving RT a try if they're more durable and just as productive.

Good grub. I use Fat Alberts as swim jig trailers, but i fish the rage grubs on jig heads due to the slower fall rate.

I tried them last season and found that they produced well for smallies but I can't say that they out produced my Kaylin's. I'll need to fish them more this year. Can't wait for the candy colors!
