GYCB Kut tail worms

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me the correct way  to hook the Kut Tail worm?  Flat part of tail vertical or flat?  Bend at the tail, up or down?  I think they should have more action than I am getting.

I fished with a guy that was using them and they  really thumped, so I think it is something I am doing wrong.

Rig the Kut Tail with the tail vertically straight. Fish it weightless,

T-rigged, shaky head or on a drop shot rig. This is perhaps the

most overlooked soft plastic on the planet. It works for me BIG-TIME!

X2! :)

I fish it weightless, for the most part I don't pay much attention to how the tail faces after I've rigged it. It always seems to have that wiggle in the tail kinda like a senko and I think thats what gets them to bite. I primarily use the 5inch size, and rig them with a 3/0 hook. It is indeed a great bait, though the sunnies love them, and they will rip the tail off on you. So if you run into a area of sunnies, move down a few.

Also, these baits work nice on bedding fish for me, the slow fall infront of their face when they're on the beds seems to get em to open up that mouth.

All in all, definetly a bait worth casting around, my favorite colors are green pumpkin and cinnamon brown. I will also use the 4inch size once in awhile. Though the price is high, majority of GYCB stuff is good stuff, definetly a brand I trust  :).

Try a 6.5" Kut Tail Worm wacky rigged and hold on!

The Big Kahuna Cut Tail is one of my go-to baits.

Rig it with the tail oriented vertically. With the flat edge of the tail down, it has more action on the fall. It's just a bit more subtle with the flat edge up.

I fish these T-rigged about 80% of the time. Weightless is good in and around weeds. 5/0 EWG hook for either rig.

Rigged on an Evo Shake2 jighead is also very productive.

That about sums it up! I haven't noticed a big difference in the way I rig the tail except on a shakey head I like it laying flat. 8-)

Outstanding drop shot bait, nose hooked or wacky.
