Academys Replacement Policy?

Featured Replies

Do they have one? i have one of their reels that was dropped and the shaft that holds the drag control, handle etc. is bent and it catches when you reel. I dont have a receipt or packaging because I got it from a buddy who didnt wanna deal with it and bought a new one. I figured i could save it if they fixed it for me or replaced it.

I doubt they would replace it without the packaging. You might could slip by without a receipt

I don't know anything bout Academy, but I have found that calling customer service

and being VERY PLEASANT works wonders. Maybe you get the reel replaced, maybe not,

but it doesn't hurt to ask.

On other suggestion: Tell them the reel was dropped, what's broken and just leave it

at that.

If their reels are warrantied like their rods just take it back and tell em its broke. I've never needed a receipt, and never had any questions asked, they gave me a new rod and sent me on my way.

thats what i was thinking if they are lifetime warrantied it shouldnt matter about a receipt or anything obviously noone else makes h2o products

What he said had a few rods break they replaced them with no problem.

Just take it in.....they'll replace it no problem. I've done it several times. No receipt = exchange fpr the original cost of the item, no matter if you replace with the same item or not. This is a big part of the reason I do most of my fishing gear shopping thru Academy.
