Centipedes And French Fries

I was wondering how you guys rig these? When it's high and bright skies here even senkos can strike out, so I'm wondering if these do nothing baits might be the trick for really sluggish bass during midday. I was thinking of fishing them on a light carolina rig. Are they better than senkos during really tough conditions with bright and hot conditions?

I like using these on a finesse style C-rig. I use my medium-light action spinning rig, loaded with 8# test fluoro on the main line. First, I slide on a small 1/8 oz. bullet sinker, followed by a small, red glass bead. Then I tie on a quality crane style swivel (like a Spro PowerSwivel) and attach a 2' length of 6# fluoro leader to that. I use a fine wire Gammy size #1 (not a 1/0) off-set worm hook and texas rig the French Fry.

A slow drag, on appropriate structures, has saved a lot of otherwise fishless days for me over the years! ;)

One of the more popular lures in this area is the Lake Fork Ring Fry - in my experience it is a little more fishable than Senkos in wind.  I usually T-rig 'em weightless or with 1/16 oz. if I have to.  But there are lots of options.  A nail weight in the butt gives 'em a different action and can often draw strikes when fish are finicky.  You can defintely C-rig 'em.  They are also good for shakey head applications.  Try both the regular ring fries and the baby version which is a little more slender but has the same action.

You can rig french fries any way you want, as many I have my favorite ways to rig them:

Split Shot rig

Tail weighted wacky rigged

C-rigged

The only thing I'd add to Raul's list is drop shot.  Hook through  the end or wacky.

I started using fries this year (had some - just never used them.) I use a smaller "hp" hook (clip removed), mash a small splitshot near the eye, and 2-ton epoxify (?) the lead. Then rig the fry wacky...

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking of using a light sinker in the 1/8 ounce range with them.
