What? No Magic Bait?

Featured Replies

I was able to get the time to watch the Classic coverage and the one thing that struck me was the aftermath has no " good Lord...I gotta get some of those baits!!!" The business of fishing intrigues me. Strike King had two home run Classics which is great. I just didn't see that kind of deal this year. The Power Pole got some good comments and promo time but they're more the $5.49. I'm probably the only guy that burnt a brain cell thinking about this.

Nope...you are not alone. Two of us wasted some brain cells on that thought.

Sorry to say that you are not completely true on that statement. Although there was no "magic bait", TW added the Gambler Ugly Otter to their site the day after Chris Lane used it to win the Classic.

No..............TW has had that bait for years....they bumped it to the "new" section for obvious reasons.

Correct

Well, a new prototype just didnt win this year. I say this: Watch the Bobby Lane videos (part 1 and 2) here on BassResource homepage. While he's talking, hes flipping his Fatty Craw from Havoc. Look at all the bites hes getting! That was my "gotta get some of those" moment.

But yes, I feel the same way about the winning bait as the rest of you. But I have a prediction: look for Chris Lane to come out with his own designed flipping bait in the nearish future... being a Florida boy, I'm guessing a sort of punch craw, or thereabouts...

Yeah, I had a feeling they did that because I saw it had review already. Still proves my point.

Do NOT waste your money on this bait. It will cause arm soreness and a terrible case of "bass thumb"

No there wasn't but you did see them all switch to soft plastics on Day 2? They knew when to slow down and, more importantly, where exactly the fish where so the slower approach was more effective.

man,I've been fishing the gambler ugly otter for a few years now. So it only made me disappointed the bait got attention it is somewhat getting now. Ugly otter outfishes the sweet beaver for me....that was the only thing I had going for me here while everybody else fishes sweet beavers here mainly.

Gambler has some great baits,so in the end I'm glad for the company.

They also got a ton of coverage when Hite won the Classic on the Bacon Rind.
