Knot For Double Fluke Rig?

Featured Replies

Is there one better than a palomar?

Dont know that its better. Just what i use. Its a double surgeons knot using 2 lines. Cut 18-24" leader and lay it next to main line with about 12" hanging below. Tie the 2 lines in a double surgeons knot and cut the top tag end. This will leave you a short tag and a longer tag.

Hope this helps!

I use a palomer knot when I do my double fluke rigs it's the only knot I use for any rig really.

I use a palomar to the swivels and improved clinch to the baits. I find the palomar an easier knot to tie to the swivel than any type of knot that requires wrapping of the line because the swivels tend to spin.

Same, wxcept I use a UNI instead of the clinch, and for the same reasons.

Swivels? Apparently I'm picturing this rig incorrectly. I was imagining the same thing as a drop shot except you tie another fluke on the tag instead of a weight.

Do a search on Donkey Rig, or Double Zulu rig, it will give you a good idea of what we are in reference to.
