Hey all,

After entering the state vs state on the forums today, I started thinking about accurate weight. I have a cheapo spring weight, but from the different objects I've tried to weigh it seemed close at best. Are there any affordable scales? I mean, I would love to have a boga, but the price of those is just too high for me at the moment. What about the $30-40 replica versions?

If anyone has experience with them I'd appreciate the feedback!

I use a rapala digital and it is very accurate.

Rapala, don't waste ur $ they are so cheap and unreadable had 3, all broke and not damaged that's more than enough to never do business with that company any more.

I have a berkley from walmart for $20 that's pretty good I do think it is a few ounce off now but I think my batteries are dying. Just weigh use to a gallon of milk if the weight from answers.com is true. Whole 8.6, 2% milk 8.4. I weigh my gallon of 2% and got 8.10 so mine must be 6 ounces off if those weights are true.

Endless, where did you get those weights for the milk? Regardless, as far as I'm concerned, the only way to test a scale is to weigh things that have already been weighed on a certified scale. Yeah, at times I've felt a little silly weighing things like milk and soda at the supermarket, but I want to know exactly how accurate or inaccurate my scale is.

Did you account for the weight of the plastic jug? I bet that weights around 4 or 5 ounces so yours might not be that far off.

I bought a Field and Stream spring scale because my Rapala scale was killing my batteries w/o using it. I weight my 10lb anchor and a 5lb kettle bell weight and both were dead on.

So I was just trying to do a search online to see what I have in the house to weigh. I wasn't sure if the weight of milk is correct and was hoping to be correcting on here, lol.

Speaking of supermarket scales how off you think the produce ones may be or do you think their accurate? If so I don't mind taking a gallon of mil over there, lol. If not I'll just have to remember to bring my scale allong next time out. I do today have to go to MailHouse Plus to get something shipped by UPS. I wonder if the weighing scale is certified and would the mind weighing one of weightplates so I can check my scale? I guess I can ask.
