Which one of these are you guys running? What are the pros and cons that you like about the one you picked.

I run navionics, I like it alot, however there are sometimes where the lowrance maps are better and is fairly easy to switch the two. I think that it all depends on where you fish, I say that because on the model I have the upper end of Lay lake is not even mapped, so I just switch back to the lowrance. Good Luck!

I use both Navionics and the built-in Lowrance mapping. Navionics is great for contours and topography, especially for their HD lakes (1-foot contour intervals). Lowrance mapping is better for pre-impoundment features - creek channels, roadbeds, bridges, foundations, etc. It's just a couple of Menu selections to toggle back and forth from each map.

You seem to be in the know...any idea why they went to the micro chips on the new systems?

That is just the direction that memory cards are trending now, driven by the cell phone industry. Plus, on the smaller Mark/Elite units, physical size played into the decision.
