Clackin Rap Or Xrk

Featured Replies

I lost an old lipless crankbait and need to replace it. I have become fond of the one knocker sound and narrowed my choice to the Rapala Clackin Rap and XCalibur XrK. Which do you think is a better performer? Any color I should look at getting?

The XRK50 is one of my favorite rattlebaits of all time. The gold/blackback and red craw colors are great in stained and dirty water and the ghost color is great for clear to slightly stained water. I've never been a fan of Rapala rattlebaits so I've never fished the clackin rap but you won't be disappointed with the Xcalibur. Upgrade the hooks though, the ones that come on them are kind of flimsy.

Clackin' raps catch pike. Never tried the other bait.

I love the one-knocker xcaliburs. Not so fond on rapala liplesses.

Any colors I should look at getting? My lakes are fairly clear to stained. I was thinking of getting Foxy Shad and/or Ghost. Are they any good?

The xrk50 in foxy shad has served me very well in mildly stained water, it gets my vote.

This is hard for me as I really like the one knockers, both are good and the Xcalibur really shines when ripped through weeds but I like the clackin' rap better for cold water applications like yo-yoing or verticle jigging.

I decided to get the XrK in foxy shad.
