I also sent a message to Minn Kota but it's taking to long to get beck to me but I have a 45# foot control trolling motor and and every time I press on the foot the motor is hard to make turn and it makes this squeaking noise. Is there a way I can oil it, fix it, or do someone know what the problem may be? I didn't have this motor for a year yet I don't think and it's causing problems already?

I tried to find receipt cant but I do have the original box it came in. I just it something I can fix and keep motor.

Edited, I thought in OP that it stated while turning in one direction only.

under the top cover there is a gear or pulley with a set screw, maybe it is loose. There is also a tension type screw under the foot pedal.
