I need some input on fluorocarbon for my bait caster. What do u guys like for fluorocarbon?

Seaguar Invizx or Seaguar Arazx!

Unfortunately with Fluoro's you do get what you pay for...I use to use Seaguar products but had too many "bad batch spools" and switched.

The best I've used is Toray Superhard Soloroam Upgrade...tackletour (hate the guys that run that site) did a Fluoro shootout a couple of years back and it's still up on the reviews section of their website. Long story short this stuff outperformed the others and I found the same thing to be true, and it lasts way longer than any other flouro I've used. Downside is it cost 34 bones for 164 yard spool.

The best affordable option if you will in Sunline Sniper FC...but don't try either one on spinning gear as they are both stiff, but this makes them tougher and more sensitive.

X2 on sunline. Its all I use now. The super is great and is only 15 bucks for 200 yards!!

Though its not a true fluoro, YoZuri Hybrid is unbelievably strong. For true fluoro XPS is a good deal.

I have Seaguar InvizX on a spinning reel and find its ok but will not be buying anymore. Its soft for spinning reels but has a lot of stretch. I have another spinning reel with BPS fluoro and like it a lot. Its not as soft but still very manageable and its lacks a lot of the stretch InvixZ has and I get it a good price. I want to try Sunline Sniper when I use up all my InvizX but might just pick up some more BPS, still undecided.

Trilene 100%. It's real good line. I also use BPS brand when I can't get the trilene,

Tried all the high end fluorocarbon that was recommended on this site. Not impressed. I've been using Trilene 100% the last few years. Great performance and readily available.

manageability? that would be a seagaur product (invisx, tatsu) but expect stretch, and not great sensitivity but better than mono.

do you want low stretch and high sensitivity? that would be sunline shooter or toray upgrade. but that stuff is stiff, springy and pricey.

every thing else will be an in between of those bookends. with bps 100% probably a happy medium.

its an expensive quest you are about to start on finding the right floro for you. hopefully you will be happy with your first choice.

Steezaddict pretty much gave you an accurate summary...he's obviously tried about all of them out there, because I know I have and I 100% agree with his post. I did recently purchase some Maxima 100% Fluoro I'll keep you updated...it feels pretty supple and similar to Seaguar Abrazx...if it holds up well and doesn't sufffer phantom breaks or wear out quickly (things bad fluoro are noted for) it should be alright...

The only thing I would disagree with is I like the Sunline Sniper FC as a good middle of the road Fluoro, but it is a little stiff for spinning gear unless you stay under 8 lb test...spinning gear and fluoro is trickly...Seaguar is soft and castable but it doesn't have good tensile strength.

Do you plan on using this line on spinning gear?...if so Abrazx would be my choice out of the stuff i've used, but again it has failed me in the clutch a few times. I've heard good stuff about High Seas Fluoro but I haven't used it.

That's about all I can offer. I hope you find one that works well for you...finding a bad fluoro is easy a good one is a lot harder. Also be very careful tying your knots and wet (make that really soak the line good) before tightening and don't kink the line....there are a few knots that work well with fluoro but I've found the San Diego Jam to be the most reliable.

I've heard bad stuff...but people say all kinds of stuff; it could be good i haven't used it so I can't tell you. I can tell you though that most cheap fluoros wear out quickly they are strong for the first 2-10 trips but then start breaking on almost every hookset...if that happens then you'll have your answer...if not you might have found a line that will work for you good luck.

ok thanks. yea i just checked reviews on it and people said it broke after the first week. I fish almost everyday so we'll see what happens.

Braid with a sunline sniper leader. Great castability and sensitivity.

I liked the performance of this line. I was thinking of changing up this year to a higher quality floro to see if the performance and feel increased. But it is one of those deals where do you fix it when it isn't broken?

You should try Toray Superhard Upgrade...check the tackletour stats from their fluoro shootout...don't quote me I try to stay off that junk site as much as possible, but they did a bunch of lab tests and I think it had abrasion resistance about 2 to 3 times that of the mono, and was way way ahead of all fluoros especailly in abrasion resistance.

I fish the stuff and I can tell you rocks and zeb's don't effect it definately worth a try IMHO.

I use Stren Fluorocast on my ultralight. 6#, no problems, same line for over a year. As a matter of fact, I was using it yesterday morning. I caught a Mayan Cichlid and it pulled under the rock ledg. I could feel the line scraping against the rock. No problems, didnt break, landed the tough bugger.

this is my first year using fc and I decided to try bps flouro in 14 lb. and I must say it has been better than my mono and copolymer lines. it feels extremely sensitive and even at 28 degree mornings I have not had any issues. I do keep it sprayed with kvd line cond. and that makes a big differance [thanks john f] I will definitly be buying more and swapping out more reels to it. from my experience there is no need need to spend the crazy money for tatsu although I did have a spool in my hand but put it back and went with xps , no regrets.

it is a must have. J Franco was raving about it and I finally bought some last year and what a differance especialy when you use a line like cxx. To me its as important as the baits I use.
