I have seen them up to 12" out of Erie.
WHOA!!!!! I have to admit this thing had some fight in it. I thought they stayed around 3-4"?

There are several goby bates on the market, just found a pack of SK's I'm going to use next Erie tripMight be a long shot, but the All American Trash Fish might do a decent job of impersonating one of these guys. I dont know how their fins look, but you might could trim a few fins to make it look right

I used those at erie!! I caught a bunch of smallmouth in the marina in Westfield NY with my cousin.LOL, I forgot about those things.
