Shimano is having a $30 rebate on their Chronarchs and Curados, so those would be my top two choices. If you pay retail for the reel the post rebate price would be $170 for the Chronarch and $130 for the Curado. Both are great reels at that price point and will keep you happy for years and years.

I love my Curado 200E5 with it's 5.0:1 ratio. I use mine for cranking.

If you have to why don't save some more money or come down and get Citica or BPS PQ and than just stock up on some extra tackle.
Oh please dear lord let it be an 8 or more!!

I've had great success with the Lews Tournament MG deep spool at 129.99 or the Tournament series at 149.99 ( dual cast control ). The previously mentioned reels are also great performers. You have several options.
I was looking in the garage the other day and trying to move through all my wife's stuff and you'll never guess what I found ? My boat.

If I was looking for a good reel in that price range, I'd look no further than a Shimano Citica or an Abu Garcia Revo S. I own both of them, and they're great reels. They're both listed at $129.99 (minus rebates) at BPS.
If you think you deserve something, you probably don't deserve anything.

Personally I think you can get a GREAT reel for $150 but If you think you want the BEST look on Ebay for a Lew's TP! I've bought a used one for under $100 and a new one for just over $160.

In my opinion they are as god as it gets hands down bar none!

You should be able to find a NIB Curado for around $125 or less.
Some were discounted last fall for $89. I own both the 50 and the
200. These are "best values". My personal preference is the CU50.
