Could be an academy pistol minnow which is a highly effective knock off of the lucky craft gunfish
  3. You could also replace the tip top which is a pretty easy job. Sounds like the rod would work great for your intended use as well
  4. I’d say what they replace is what was wrong with it. How’s it feel now?
  5. Mudhole should have guide layouts but I suggest you research the new guide concept and the Fuji kr concept down the road.
  6. I think it would be ring handles rods, Tennessee grip rods and reel seat rods right ?
  7. I’m confused. What is the revising of history? Rods with slip rings being called Tennessee grips when they should be called?
  8. I’d fish it and see what happens. You got the rod for free. I’d be more worried someone damaging the blank bending the guides back in place. If it breaks that’s the breaks.
  9. Why did it take 6 weeks to bend 4 guides back in place? the wraps keep the guide feet in place and the epoxy protects the wraps.
  10. Dang hard to pick just one. Weightless Zoom fluke though.
  11. The St. Croix Mlf is one of my favorite rods. I use it for all the things you listed except jigs. Well jigs over 1/4oz and that have a heavier wire hook.
  12. I have been wanting to built a rod with a carbon fiber handle. They seem very nice. Currently in the research process as there are a few options such as buying a premade one or making the cores and skinning the grip your self. Either way it seems like carbon will be the way of the future as cork becomes more expensive.
