  1. Good afternoon, this is a random question but also an important question I have been trying to find out… Anybody know what size and brand split ring come on the 6 inch trick shad at the head of the bait? I recently got a custom glide bait but it did not come with a split ring and I think adding one will greatly improve the presentation, I think the one they use on the 6 inch tricks will be a perfect match so that’s why I was wondering? Appreciate it guys!
  2. Definently would be good with a crankin stick 👍
  3. Yes, i am looking for a baitcasting rod, but i would be interested to hear about your spinning mafia!

  5. I agree, i think i am probably leaning towards the medium to deep diving range, because I have a rod that i can make do with square bills for now, definitely would go with dobyns or st. Croix becuase i already own rods from both and have had no issues (other than GSM customer service 😠) so those could definently be good options! thanks a lot!
  6. I think that is a solid idea, do you think that using a Swimbait rod for deep divers would still give you good sensitivity?
  7. howdy y’all, I am currently on the search for a good crankbait rod for my spring tournament series, i am not to concerned about it being a cerain brand although my preference would be Dobyns, St. Croix, or Lews i am trying too find a rod under 180$ though since i am hoping on getting a Swimbait rod as well, i have looked at the XPS Crankin’ Stick and have definently considered that as a potential contender but the thing is i need to find a rod that can handle all depths in one so i can throw anything from a KVD 1.5 to a Sixth Sense Unit, i am pairing it with a Lews American Hero Camo Reel, i appreciate any and all feedback! thanks a lot! Keep catching hawgs!
  8. I personally have used a big variety of different Googan soft baits, mostly because I am based in Texas so you can find their baits in almost any outdoors store (bass pro, academy, scheels, dicks) and most smaller tackle shops as well. I have found the bandito bug and krackin craw pretty efficient and I have never had anything bad to say about Googan. Im wondering what everyone here on BassResource thinks of em! Thanks Y’all!

  11. Bro his videos are really funny but the guy does more vids of his pet fish than actually fishing but I agree him n rawwfishing are both so fun to watch the feedings!!!
  12. Shimano SLX is great for the price and very durable if you’re looking for a baitcast, so i would highly recommend it! Im not sure if this is just me but i personally prefer to throw frogs on spinning reel (I'm not sure why i just always have) so i would suggest a Shimano Stella, they are quite expensive but they are awesome when you are using really heavy braid while frogging!

  14. Thank you for that suggestion, I will certainly look into them more, unfortunately I have to agree with you, yes, the quality Dobyns and of a lot of small business rod companies has gone down significantly once they are sold to big time fishing stores (Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Shceels, Academy) becuase they dont make them with as much care as they did which is disappointing for us… @PBBrandon Yes, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Champion XP 734c from people I will probably going to look more into that one, do you think it would pair well with a Shimano Curado or a Shimano SLX? Thanks for the advice by the way!
  15. I will say prespawn and spawn are very different so i would not be using the same baits for both times, for spawning i suggest a big bait that triggers a aggressive strike by the defensive females becuase they never seem interested in smaller baits like worms, craws, or stiks, i suggest my favorite two for the spawn would be megabass magdraft or the savage gear pulse tail bluegill, hope this helps!!!
  16. Definetley would suggest chug bug at #1 im a big fan of the River2Sea whopper plopper but it often catches me more largemouth than spotties but it is still great!
