I had just said goodbye to one of my best friends and his family. They were moving to Fort Bragg for his next duty station. I turned on the TV and watch it from the very beginning of the reports. I held my wife for a long time and then called Fort Gordon to see where I needed to report. I put on my uniform, laced up my boots, grabbed my gear, and kissed my pregnant wife goodbye not knowing when I'd be back home.

One day while wading a creek for trout in North Georgia I had about a 4 ft timber rattle snake swim between my legs. It still gives me chills to think about it.

Yes, all my skirts are hand tied with wire. When I take them off I dry them out before putting them back in the box. It's always been rust that used to kill my jigs.

I don't buy very many anymore but the ones I make and the ones I get from Siebert Outdoors last me for hundreds of fish. I had one last spring that I know I caught over 500 fish on before I retired it.

I never cut mine off and I never buy jigs with wire weed guards and yep it's Saturday. Football and Fishing.

You bet I do but I also remember the schedule a few years ago. Half the games were against ranked teams. It was rated one of the top three hardest schedules in the NCAA. So it comes around to ya in the SEC. But in the ACC it never changes.

Yea, This is coming from a ACC fan. The only conference where one regular season game decides who the champion will be. (Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech) Because the rest of the conference sucks that bad.

I know what topic you are speaking of. You see, every new member gets the once over from us when they sign on. In just a few seconds we do a few simple checks to make sure they aren't here for the wrong reason. (Spammer... etc.) This particular new member had a few posts that raised some red flags. So we dug a little deeper and came to the conclusion that he was here only to be a troll. So we helped him to the door right at the same time you were typing your response. When the door closed behind him all his posts disappeared leaving you with that error message.

I've got that many in lipless alone. I'm afraid to count my totals. Years of collecting and buying them on sale will do that to ya.

Excellent. I grew up in that area and there's plenty of public access water. The hooch has trophy trout, and plenty of different types of bass from Stripers to Shoal bass. There are plenty of members on here that kayak fish all over the area.

I'll be doing it a lot more this season than I have in the past. The coyotes and bobcats are decimating our deer population. I've seen two does in the past week who didn't have a single fawn with them. So this year I'm letting my sons fill the freezer and I'm going after the predators. I usually use a shotgun because my average shot here in Georgia is about 30 yards.

Somebody take the reigns and plan it and I'll do everything I can to be there.

Pure fiction. The only red hook I use is for the front hook on my clear topwater lures. They make a good target for the bass but I haven't found any other good use for them.

Pros get new reels every year. When one breaks they get another one. Many of them don't care if the reel lasts any longer than a season.

There's not rule book about what grass to fish when. I'm sure if there was one the bass wouldn't read it. You've got to let the bass tell you what they want and where they prefer to be. With that said I usually spend a lot of time on the outside edge of any grass bed. I also pay particular attention to where two different types of grass meet. On very sunny days I may start looking for weeds that offer the most shade. I stay away from dead or dying weed and prefer the greenest stuff there is. Hope this helps.
