I agree man its insane the amount of bait here. We do small tourneya out here moat guys just use small coleman crawdad boats then there are 2 that use bass trackers. We had a tourney where best 5 was 39lbs and 2nd had 37 and 3rd had 30 lol. Freakin insane! @everythingthatswims

Sounds like your fishing to shallow. Those bass get beat up yr in and yr out. U dont even need a finder to find big fish. I find areas like points jutting out from the shore with a deep crank u can find out where the sides slope or where the drops are. I have found ledges where i can tell it drops from around 4-10 ft or even more. Also most coves have a channel up the middle of em ir the mouths of channels have points and deep water. Once u fish around deep water alot with a heavy jig or deep crank like a 6xd u will start to be able to feel the drops and cover. One of my best areas this yr is a river channel that connects 2 lakes. I never knew how deep it was i could just tell thete was a serious depth change. I have caught 3 8lbrs out of this spot and idk how many over 5lbrs. Then a buddy of mine graphed it and it goes from 6-16ft. Nice wintering/prespawn area. Dont be afraid to move off shore. One of the best decisions i made about 10 yrs ago and has yiedled many nice bags of fish. And it doesnt even have to be deep. Maybe just a grass flat that comes up from 20ft to 8ft or rock pile. Here are my best 3 this yr with no depth finder all over 8lbs.

Hahaha it is nice @A-Jay my buddies in michigan are saysaying that i will never be back lol 3 over 8lbs this year and a bunch over 5lbs. Only be back for smallies

Got on 2 fish today from 7 to 11 am. Both on deep str8ke king 6xds. 8.50lbs and 6.94lbs. Love this fishery!

My 2 pbs from this year. Top one 8.64lbs bottom 8.39 lbs both caught on deep cranks.

@senile1 thanks! Hopefully the next report will be better. I will be going TDY in florida for field training in a week so wont be fishing again until the 15th of feb.

Went out to the killer lake again today. Been about 2 weeks since i been and i heard the bite was slow. Water was extra choclately and cold muddy cranking water is tough. Dont get me wrong water normally isnt clear by any means but can usually see bait a foot down. Today was 4inches. So got 1 in the boat at 4.97lbs on a strike king 6xd. Lost one also. Tough morning! U know its a good lake when fish under 5lbs dont get u excited.

@Bass fishing @bass fishing freak definitely one of the funnest lakes ive fished is lake eufala in a 3 day tourney. Awesome froggin lake! But my favorite is in northern michigan. Discovered it from some intel from a guy that lives up there. 40-50 smallies a day 3-5lbrs with a few 6s in there. Nothing like that. And never see another bass boat. How does eufala fish now a days? I heard its nit like it used to be

Went out today and braved the wind in my coleman crawdad lol. That was interesting. About the first 10 minutes buddy hooks up and ends up with a 5.2lbr. Sweet going to be a good day. Fish there for awhile and nothing. Head over to where river enters laje and lose a nice one. Nothing after thay fir a loooong time lol. Around 2 pm im thinking im getting the skunk. See a bunch of birds hammmmmering shad. Buzz over there and probably 3 casts into the shad school i hit big fish of the day at 5.44lbs. Only 2 fish of the day quality today not quantity.
