  1. Not watched the video yet but every trip to that lake this year has given up a lot of nice fish. Fished Melvern this morning. I didn't think the fishing was that bad. 6 fish over 15" and 2 over 18". Could not get bit hardly at all on plastics. Most of the fish were on a Bandit 200 whatever they call their sexy shad color. I spent a lot of time thinking a jig and a spinner bait would catch the big fish and zero'd on those baits.
  2. I know nothing of Pomona but IMO the other 3 lakes will give you about the same outcome right now (unless you know a lake personally). Temps below 60 degrees for me it's Melvern. I like Melvern dirty with about 10mph NW winds. Blow that bait fish up on the bank and get to work with a Kalin's Sizmic grub or a Keitech Swing Impact. Maybe a tube. Second for me would be Clinton.
  3. There are nice brownies out there. Personally I've only caught one that would weigh. Lot's of shorts. That was May 2014.
  4. I did mine after watching a few youtube videos. The hardest part was convincing myself I could do the work. iboat had the kit.
  5. I want to replace the fuel line from the pick up in the tank to the motor. The hose from the tank to the motor is clear enough but I wonder if anyone has a few tips for the anti-siphon valve into the tank? Thanks.
  6. A few weeks back a fish over 8lbs was brought in. I had 7.4lbs in the pool for top fish in our group. Felt like I was fishing Table Rock late winter the whole time.
  7. This year was the most insane I have seen. 2,600 entries... I loved it.
  8. Anyone win any money at the Bass Bash? Closest we got was a 2.87 fish.
  9. Anyone have a suggestion to replace the Z Man finesse lead head? I'm breaking way too many of them.
  10. If anyone needs kids size to small adult life jackets send me a PM. Free, good to go.
  11. Anyone have feedback on the MotorGuide X3 24v 70lbs trolling motor? Broke my steering cable retrieving a $7 crank bait.....
  12. Not a big piece of water but Oregon Trail Park has a nice pond that gives up decent sized bass. Celebration Park in Gardner gives up great numbers, just don't drink the water.
  13. Gardner was good today. Worked hard for 8 fish. Berkley Pit Boss on a Biffle head. Fish were hitting on the fall popping the bait away from the bottom/bank. A few on a jerk bait. Water temp was 42-44 degrees. Best fish was around 4lbs 8oz and about 19" long
  14. Are you fishing the Mondo tourney this weekend?
  15. Chatter baits were the ticket last Thursday. Not the early bite I expected.
  16. Hillsdale without question. The place is giving up nice fish finally.
  17. Walleye were small except for the one that spit my bait @ the boat. That one would have went 18" easy. Huge head and mouth. As far as the Blues go I'm not an expert at seeing the differences between Channels and Blues but these fish were almost silver, zero spots. I wouldn't think it would be hard for these fish to make it into the lake with all the minnows dumped in the place.
  18. I took the boat to Hillsdale to check on a few motor repairs. Boat did what it was supposed to do so we fished. IF we had been fishing a Bass Pass tourney we would have taken 4 bass to the scales. A lot of fish @ 14". A huge walleye, a few nice Whites, and 2 Blues I guess just didn't know better.
  19. I used to love Melvern. Great lake.
  20. Stuff like removing the motor, replacing steering cables.... rebuilding the carbs, water pump impeller ( which is super easy BTW)? I'll keep that in mind.
  21. This is a worn out, inflated bait but toss the Ned Rig. It has always been my go to at Table Rock.
  22. That is Reggie's first boat and I like to know what everything does. I didn't mess with the handles much but for some reason I was thinking seat release or something. Eject a**hole in boat sounds good too.
  23. Any ideas on what those 2 handles do?
  24. Gardner is on fire right now. Everything worked from deep water cranking to flipping the grass. A Pit Boss and a 3/8 oz EcoPro tungsten flipping weight did most of the work. I imagine the place has been beat to death by now.
  25. Anyone pick on the rock pile @ Gardner? It used to be one of my best spots. Seems it was just north of the beach. I could be wrong.
