Sigh..... So much made out of a simple post. Thanks for reminding me I should leave post to the pros. I look forward to seeing those I know on the water.

All this tells me you need nothing more than a friendly push in the direction. Makes my post sound rather simple.

Well, do any research like the KSU tourney. My post. It's a 17 year bite in the making. Good luck.

Melvern is AMAZING right now, even during the storms. The rain actually helped. It was shocking to see how high it was.

Has anyone fished Melvern lately?

Ahhh. For some reason my mind said you caught your second 10lbs fish. I thought that was brave sharing that info. Melvern gets the beat down bad enough as it is.

Am I reading this right? A 10lbs smallie pulled from Melvern?

About To Rebuild The Carbs On My Mercury 115 Hp
Job was super easy. Much less work than the old Motorcraft needle point carbs. I used ultra duster in a can to blow stuff out over my compressor. Much more contained.

Drive west on 159th street from Lone Elm street and there is a road going back north that leads to parking and a road to the south side of the lake.

Anyone trout fish @ Kill Creek today? It's possible I had the most fun on that lake today I've had in years. Trolled Rapala Shad Raps and Lucky Craft Flat Mini. A lot of fish caught.

This goes back to what I said before. I don't fish Melvern with many baits I see posted. Scrounger head and the tail of a Chompers Shaky Worm. All things rolled into one, shaky head, ned, and swimming bait. Plus, the vibration is amazing. More 18"+ fish for me on this bait than all others combined. We are heading to Melvern Monday, if anyone else is going, hit me up. We can compair notes at days end.

All good bank fishing, google maps gives you a great view of the area.

I'm sorry I misspoke when I said Heritage. Although you would have great access to that lake, I would go to Celebration Park in Gardner. Easy access and fish can be caught where ever there is water.

Heritage Park in Gardner. You will only need weightless plastics.

I find it interesting to read the Melvern posts. We fish the lake from the west end to the east, rarely use the baits other regulars talk about but see the same fish. The place is truly an amazing lake.

I don't know I would fish Melvern at gun point until the weather is a few days past us. Fishing was very, very thin yesterday. I can say the Live Target Baitball is an amazing Drum bait, which is odd because the Smallies are typically up 10 feet or so from where Drum are caught. The only Smalls caught were caught on Megabass Flap Slap and Flukes on the slowest of slow retrieves.

I'd take the prop off, slide rubber hose over the threads, and try to take the bend out.

The bite has changed a lot. We spent about 2 hours on the west side of the bridge. Water had more stain to it, only caught 2. I think I'm going back Thursday, need a second......

We had a blast on Melvern Sat. The weather made the start risky. A lot of 12' Smallies and a few 15's. Sight fishing Scrounger heads and 4" trick worms. A view crank bait fish when we could find shad. I'm not seeing shad on this lake like I used too. The bass had been feeding on Gar of all things. Seeing that was a first for me as well. Flattest I've seen that lake for August.

Why Do Most Pro Fisherman Use Cable Driven Trolling Motors Over Electric?
This. Impossible to do with electric.

I love the bladed swim jig. Slow retrieve and when I feel the bait hit the bottom I give a quick twitch. Gardner Lake loves them.
