  1. All right...I was by myself and could only use one hand on the fish and one on the camera. Better than laying the fish on the carpet. When I released him I checked to see that his jaw was closed and he was breathing fine and he had the correct ID and his papers were in order..8-)
  2. 6 or 7. I love to catch this size. They fight like crazy!
  3. Thanks. I know where BPS is, do you know the name of the service place?
  4. Who do you guys deal with in the Atlanta area for parts?
  5. Sylvan Classic Fisherman, trailer, Force 40HP motor, trolling motor with foot control, 200Dx Humminbird....$650....I did not wait to get opinions first.....
  6. Got an incredible deal today on a 14' 93 Sylvan Classic Fisherman that has a Force 40HP motor on it. Don't know a lot about these. May I have some opinions on this motor pro and con. Engine runs fine.
  7. Got to remove a flywheel on a 5hp johnson. Anybody know of a deal on one. If you have a link to one that has worked well for you, please post it. thanks
  8. Sent you a private mail message.
  9. How about a "winch post".....EXPENSIVE! Anyone ever make one. How?
  10. Bought a boat trailer project cheap. Galvanized trailer that is going to be perfect for a vhull I have. Someone took the boat stuff off and converted it to haul a lawn mower...yeK! First thing I need to find is the part up front that bolts to the frame that you tie your boat bow to. What in the heck is it called and where can I buy just a simple one to tie an aluminum boat to. No winch needed. I have looked at several sites that sell trailer parts and have not seen the part.
  11. Yes. Stop laying the fish on the ground. Damages the protective covering on its body and makes it open to invasion by bacteria etc.
  12. OK. I tightened up the nut on the trailer right where the ball fits and that took up the huge amount of "slop". How much play should I leave in it or should it be as tight as possible? What is the proper way to lube the ball?? I can see that if you grease it up, it will attract dirt while towing and that will just grind away the surface of the parts that are making contact.
  13. Play in the trailer on one ball, tight on the other.
  14. Bought two 1 7/8" trailer balls from different stores that I installed on two different vehicles, two different manufacturers. One is tight and the other is very loose when I hook my trailer up. Is this a common thing or a fluke?
  15. Fished a lake the other day where a hot lure is the Mad Man lizard with a green top and the bottom is red. Cannot find them! They were sold at the great wall of china mart for a while. Lizard has nice detail to it with a spiny looking back and detailed feet. Totally different than the salamander looking Mad Man bait. Anybody have a line on any?
  16. That lake is too big to be a secret. The guys in the bass boat know where it is...... Nice fish. You released it yes?
  17. If you weigh the 7.1 fish and leave the lure in its' mouth you will have a state record! 8-)
  18. Borrow or buy a hand held air chisel. Get the rivet attachment for it. Get the matching rivet head piece that you hold against the round rivet head. Couple of hits with the air chisel will tighten them up.
  19. Wish I had not read this......It will take me a while to get this out of my mind.
  20. Yes it is a single hose tank. Came with a 15HP Johnson. Yes I did know that it had a guage. A metal arm goes down in the tank with a piece of cork on it. I did not want to take it apart to clean the glass because there is a gasket there also and I did not want to disturb it. Make a gasket looks like the way to go.
  21. Official old school tank used with so many outboards. Is is worth trying to get back on the air? Inside of the tank is clean. If you look closely at the little tabs sticking out, these are pushed in when you connect the hose and open up valves. One was corroded shut, but I got it working. Don't know if it will leak or not. Where would I get a gasket (the one between the tank and the unit) to replace the old one. Any other parts for these. I don't know the maker. Thanks for the advice.
  22. Unless something has changed there is it not a hydrilla lake. Last time I was on it the grass comes all the way up to within a foot of the surface in many spots. I guess there are some areas you can throw a swimbait.
  23. Beautiful!!!........and the fish looks good too! ;-)
