Well as most of you have seen I have been very quiet around here. Not much fishing going on. I have an announcement and the fishermen at Bass Resource are the first to hear it. I have been working very had lately. Getting ready for ICAST next Tuesday. Megastrike announces that it will unveil its first wave of soft plastic baits next Wednesday. I designed 6 new baits that I have been field testing with my pro staff. I have to say we are banging fish. MegaStrike's new line of plastic baits are now infused with MEGASTRIKE FISH ATTRACTANT. People have been asking me for years to come out with a line of soft plastics.I wasn't really interested but it was inevitable. They will be available in a few weeks. I will have samples for you guys pretty soon.A few weeks ago I announced that I designed a new spinner bait. I was going to show it to you but was advised not to show it fearing it would be copied before we even get there. A lot of work has gone into these products and I want to ensure that integrity and quality and functionality was my priority. I use all of my baits and wouldn't sell them if I didn't have 100% confidence in them. I will start leaking pictures here in the next day. The red blades I use in the clearer waters.Red of course is the first color of the color spectrum to disappear under certain light penetrations and water claritys. To use them in real stained water or muddy water or even lower light conditions - it basically goes undetected. They see a silhouette.That's all. In clearer water they can see the deep red of the blades. I look at them going away from me in clear water (while filming and diving) it looks like what I call the flared gill effect.Its a focal point that bass hit when bait fish panic.Of course they focus on the eyes also. research actually show that the shads spots are moving further back on the bodies through evolution-what ichthyologist believe the reason for this is- it - causes predator fish to miss the prey more often. As for the megaStrike -I put it on everything I throw.

Ok 30-40 yards. as long as the wind isnt in your face blowing 15 -20.. On a 7ft with a baitcaster I can jack the heck out of throwing that bait . There is a certain way I throw it to maximaze the dustance. Technique and conditions. OKIE as far as colors and blades.Keep it simple-Slight ripple on the water-1/4 oz-with some chop I throw the 3/8-Colors Black for lower light conditios-white ya can throw all day log-chartreuse/w white-stained water -ghost minnow -clear water.

Flech. I have been throwing the 3/8 for years. What do you find you can do with the 1/2 that ya cant do with the 3/8. Its certainly not castability-that thing casts 40 yards easily.The blades are certainly large enough-larger than most 1/2oz. It has plenty of weight to use for any application. If i could find a real legit reason to make a 1/2 you know i am there. I do have a sample of a 3/4 that I started for Musky

Our water here in NJ is just in the 70's. It is the coolest Spring ever. Water temp in the pool today was 72. Down south they said water is in the 90's=you can keep that. LOL

They all have their applications. I have used them also.Great products by Big O. I give credit where credit is due. There is just something about that buzzbait fishing that is explosive. If it puts fish in the boat-I USE IT!!!!

Well I finally went out fishing for a while with my buddy. Started out at about 5pm. Nice night and a bite warm. I have always governed the use of buzzbaiting to start when the fireflies are out. Its mid June and I have probibly had the coolest spring that I can remember. Fireflies were nearly non existant .Temps have rarely gotten out of the low 70's/Well out we went we tarted some spinner baiting + some Jiggn-some new baits(HINT) as it started to get dark I looked over in this field and started to see some twinkling. A familiar smile came to my face as it has since I was a kid. I told my buddy "ITS TIME" He looked at me and said "what the heck are you talking about". As I explained it to him I said "watch and Learn". I put on a black and gold Cavitron. Took a couple of casts around some weeds-nada--I went to the stumps took a cast nothing-second cast - a 3 lbr slurped it down. We ended going through this area with some stumps and catching about 15 fish between us in an hour. There were no giants but man was it a good time.So guys its time to do some buzzbaiting. look for the fireflies and just go fishing. Its my favorite way to catch em-

The Hula grub was one of my favorite plastics to demonstrate in the tanks while we were doing sport shows all winter long. I have fished the hula Grub since yamamoto introduced it many years ago. This is just something I am throwing at you- The best way I have ever rigged it was on a ShakE2 Jig Head. The spike went right into the head and the hook into the body by the tail section. You can hop it on rocks-/into weeds,brush ect and its totally weedless. Stands up every time and also rolls upward. It can be put on the 3/16 but mu favorite is the 3/8 head .*** will know this technique-Little help here buddy-can you get a pic n here?? If not I will post one on Monday- Give them a try . The hula Grub was the best kept secret here in the North East for years.

Not the GoreTex product??? I think that is their version of goreTex. Im gonna call

I have had fishermen call and go frantic saying they are down to the last quarter tube and saying that they have a tournament that weekend-they have me over night it to them.Let me tell you also I have had fishermen come over to my boat while in tournaments(my boat has a MegaStrike Wrap on it)and ask me for some cause they were out. What it also does is boost your confidence level. I cant tell you how many times that bass came back and hit the bait after I yanked it away from it. Congrates on the win Fur

I have poured my heart and soul into this product. I have done years of R&D with the formula and studying how amino acids work with fish. I have talked to people til I was blue in the face. Had people give ya that dummy look like they were the know it all best fishermen in the world.Some times ya just cant convince someone to try it. Over the years I have gone to tournaments -shows -here on this board as well as others-road trips giving product away. I have gone to ICAST and as well as other shows working the bass tanks doing demonstrations of baits being used with and without MegaStrike.I have seen some amazing things that even surprised me. I even put it on a pebble and dropped it into a tank and watched a bass pick up that pebble and swallow it.When I hear a little story like Furbits it makes it all worth while. The best is when the kids are catching fish with their dads -Priceless.Believe me MegaStrike is no snake oil.Its good to share these encounters with fellow fishermen. Like I have always stated here- I am a fisherman first-business second.

The problem I find in todays business world is that companies forgot the word INTEGRITY. I believe that is the most important part of the company. Word of mouth will sell products for them . They all seem like snake-oils salesmen. Once they have your money-they dont care what happens after the sale. There are some great companies out there that still live by a code of ethics. It is taught to them by their families- and upbringings.it is something that is usually not forgotten. Teach your kids the right way you will be proud of them forever.
