  1. Jack the thread LOL I think I just got jacked for some Cavitrons. Glenny-Do you need any- I think I might know someone that has a few sitting around-Let me know. As for the trailer hook part of the post. Sam is correct-trailer hooks for tournament use -no trailer hooks for fun fishing. When we redesigned the cavitron a few years ago we took in to consideration the trailer hook issue. Back then the cavitrons were being used primerily by tournament anglers. What we did was oversize the hooks by one size larger-then we moved it back on the head to make it sit back farther . It basically eliminated the need for the trailer hook. Using a trailer hook has its pros and cons. The pro side is =it may hook or double hook a fish that slaps or short strikes a bait. That usually happens a lot in low light or night time fishing. It also happens when there is a lot of chop or waves on the water. It also is good when fishing rivers with a lot of current. The con side is +they catch every weed they can- once you hook a weed -the bait runs out of tune and is basically worthless. It also catches brances in laydowns ect. The other thing that happens is when you attach the trailer hook to the primary hook via a rubber gromet- once that hook starts turning sideways-so does the bait. It acts like a rudder. I like my baits running straight and true-. Ok I'm done
  2. The problem with Megastrike is it lasts way too long- Over 50% of our sales come from tubes blowing out of the boat at 70MPH- fishing friends stealing their tubes and the caps being lost- HMMMM great marketing- Actually guys I am looking at new tubes as we speek. I think I am going to go with the flip top style-. They are more expensive but what the hell. happy customers= priceless
  3. Davis, The only difference between the original Mega and The Yamamoto Mega is that the Yamy version was supposed to go to Japan. They said they wanted a crayfish type because the Japanese think the crayfish would be prevalent there .Sales wise also-I did not want to use any type of artificial crayfish like the ones being used in just about all of the "CRAWFISH" type attractants. They have no food value to the formula-just an artificial scent or essence. I used real crayfish in there. Its really the amino acids that the fish are holding on to. I am right now maKing a batch of new goo- This is the strongest most potent Megastrike I have ever created. It will be available in a few days. As for the huys that say]They just swam off with it- I LOVE THAT-good solid hooksets. The best is when you pitch a bait into heavy cover and you pull up and then they pull back- then you dot their eyes.
  4. Ya have to go with the amino acids- I wish you guys were at some of the shows we did demonstrations -with and without the Megastrike on baits- It is as good as it gets. If you dont like it -we buy it back -no questions asked.
  5. SAVE YOU MONEY AND TAKE UP GOLF!!!! The stuff dosent work- Its tournament time!!!
  6. Killer question walleyboy-I thought of that many times while fishing. When I fish from shore-first I will cast right down the shoreline--then down the next shoreline-(figure 9 o'clock then 3 o'clock) then 10'oclock-then two o'clock and keep alternating so they do not get accustomed to the bait -mix it up after 5-10 min move on down the line. works for me
  7. Bassfin-I have had cavitrons blasted by large -pike-musky- salt water stripers you name it. I laugh when I look at them . I bend them back to shape and keep fishing. I dont know if its me but the worse they look the more fish I catch with them. I have cavitrons that are 5 years old. Beat to hell and they are the ones I tie on first. HMMM $5.95 per cavitron - 5-6 years of use. Thats about a buck a year to lease if I dont lose it-hundreds of fish-wow could be pennys a fish . Cant beat that for excitement- LOL Just fishn' Thanks buddy
  8. Just bend the wireing til it runs true- There is no need to throw it away. Make sure the wires are in line with the hook and head.
  9. Heres a cool pic I dont think I posted before- Cavitrons bleeding buzzbaits- The Hemo
  10. Heres my favorite cavitron
  11. Steve, Stick to the basics-Black and white are the only colors you need-as for sizes-just 3/8 and 1/4 -KEEP IT SIMPLE--Heres Roadwarriors favorite
  12. Fishy Fishy- To answer your question- What to do with them-Throw them all away -They dont work LOL
  13. Sorry speed-that was directed for Hokie
  14. Speed, Those plastics from Srike King are difficult to work with. I am not here to bash them -I am just stating a fact when it comes to this technique of adhereing the bait to the Shak-E2 Head. They do have their places of course but not here. I tested just about every size and shape of screw holder and what I found was that if you didnt get the bait to go on correctly the first time-it was wasted.Basically ripped the head of the bait and then had to be thrown away. Another thing I found was when using the screw type holders --if the worm wasnt straight- it would cause a corkscrew action or twisting during the retrieve. I didnt like that.. 99% of the baits I applied to the head work fine. If you are old like me -I have trouble screwing that worm on the head LOL
  15. Bass - I just got in 30,000 heads we take visa -Mastercard LOL
  16. TOKYO I havent gotten any emails from you- send it to bobby@megastrike.com -Hook a brother up program
  17. Zel, I was out yesterday throwing a "Shak Flick" rig - No punn- with a wacky rigged senko- There were fish stacked on points and whacked the heck out of numbers. Biggest almost 4 lbs but 20 over 2 lbs. I just went to the furthest part of the points- pulled out a little further ,then pulled the wackey rigged shak-E2 down the point. Halfway down -I just felt that familiar tap- Didnt lose a fish or a rig- it was a sandy type bottom. I only used it with a 3/16 head-green pump-
  18. Simon and Dave -believe me its cavitron time. Just go out -find the weeds preferably a good weedline -parallel them. Also find some wood mixed with that weed and you will find bass. If you have lillypads on your body of water-you can throw the Cavitron right through the pad- Just hold on . the most vicious strikes I have ever gotten on the cavitron has been pulling it through the lilly pads. This little kid across street acually he is 15 years old and 270 lbs- caught this 7lb 3 oz at a local pond on a white 3/8 cavitron -If he can do it so can you.
  19. Autiger- Thank you for your support and the kind words. I just got a report also from Manny who ownes the Bait Barn in CA> He also siad how much he liked the Shak-E2's/ Listen we are all skeptics-I am the #1 You have to let me prove to myself that things work and work for me. I never buy stuff on line- I want to hold it -feel it make sure it is what it is. I hate getting ripped off.. Thats why I always send samples- Yes it costs me but I get it in return 10 fold. I can tell every fisherman in the world in a magazine or video how good something is but ya still have to get it in their hands to use. I truely believe with all of my heart that the shak-e2 is something very unique. The more people use it -the more they come back and tell me how well they like it. As for the paint issue-It isnt paint-its powder coated-It holds up better than paint- . I havent had it come off yet -. Let me bang it against some more rocks- take care and thanks again, Bobby@MegaStrike SHAK-E2'S CATCH BIG FISH TOO!
  20. Check out these two colors Neat
  21. Rusty craw COOOOOL!!!
  22. Peanut butter N Jelly
  23. Alabamabassmaster--Wow that hurt -thats a long screen name- I have 4 favorite colors- BlacknBlue is my number one color . I throw it 85% of the time. Next in my green pumpkin-I have 3 different colors in there-green pumpkin/green pumpkin barbed wire and always highlight it with a little shimmering olive. #3 peanut butter n jelly. Nobody has the color PB&J we have . Next its the fall craw -which is a dark greenpumpkin and red flake.I pair that up wit a green pumpkin Yamamoto twintail. go to www.evolutionlure.com go to products -it will drop down and show you all of the colors. I truely believe colors sell fishermen more than bass. I know how the color spectrum works underwater-I know the molting paterns of crayfish-(Colorwise by species and water clarities)-There are only certain colors you will need. the rest is seling fishermen. Just like our cavitron buzzbaits- black-low light conditions--white you can throw all day--chartreuse -muddy water--chart/hwite stained water and the ghost minnow-(shad pattern ) clear water. The rest of the colors ar basically unnecessary.
