  1. Thats what my dad has, exact boat, and for that money it is a steal.
  2. I know it seems like I am stating the obvious here, but lets not forget that fish do not see things like we do. While we may see a shopping cart, momma bass sees something that will hide her bed from predators and is protected on 4 sides... I am still trying to figure out the depthfinder showing soft vs. hard bottoms, so I hear ya... I was always told the thicker the bottom looks on the graph the harder.
  3. Ok, I guess it isn't just RI fish that spawn on the tops of rocks and stumps. Last year I acctually saw a fish that had a bed in a shopping cart that was on it's side in 2 feet of water.

    1. The last time I fished as a non-boater was in my State Qualifying tourney. It was the last time for that. My boater was drop-shotting bridge pillings and was dead on with them so I couldn't fish. Well I figured out a little something and put some fish in the boat, then it died so I just started firing my sworming hornet over the boaters head. I know two wrongs don't make it right but sorry, I didn't pay a couple hundred to get back-boated all weekend 2. Alan, it's going to be a fun year in our club. ;D
  5. Up here not too many people talk about or pay attention to bottom composition. In the Classic and recent events on Florida lakes (shell beds?) I have been noticing more talk about what makes up the bottom of the lake. We have beach sand, different types of gravel, mud, and rock bottoms up here. I know why and when fish relate to rocky bottoms, but what about the other three? :-/
  6. I have owned and fished with both... Components: It is close but I would give it to the Avid Blank: The Carrot is much much lighter and more sensitive As for split grip or cork it is all a matter of personal preference, I personally like the split grip. I like the Carrot more because of the weight, sensitivity, split grip, and warranty. Ok before another war starts I'm out.....
  7. Jig Man those are some nice keepers!
  8. 100% Right. I would rather be on the water than working at outdoor shows. And as BillyBob says most of the time you have to be "deceitful" or exaggerate to get the job done as I have seen by about 98% of sponsored guys. I'm all set with that stuff. But my sister does have a pretty sweet deal. ;D
  9. A toothpick through the plastic and into the eye of the hook.
  10. Can't wait.
  11. I would never go to a spot where someone else is fishing or go too close to someone. But sorry, if I'm in a tourney and was there first, I'm not moving. Like fishizzle said, there are "unwritten laws" but most people just don't care. Thats when you just follow behind them catching all the fish they missed. 8-)
  12. With shakey heads that heavy heavy wire hooks like Magnum Spot Removers, I put on beavers or super-hogs and flip brush and timber.
  13. I told you, just calm down and everything would be fine. Great job for your 3rd tourney ever dude. And you did what you wanted. Let's see what we can figure out for the next tourney and get you on some good ones. I wish we had this program up here. >

You made the right choice, love my original 40 series even on my V6. But $251 is a lot, did you do it yourself?
  15. That could be the funniest thing I have seen all day. ;D
  16. Good thing on the History Channel right now about Oil and such.
  17. It's open early this year. Paying the dues isn't fun. >
  18. In West Greenwich, RI 87= $3.24 Diesel=$4.05 Edit: My dad said it went up today.
  19. Get out the Gore-Tex and spinnerbaits out for Friday. Then 50 on Saturday. 8-)

T-rigged on a Spot Remover Pro Model jig-head or a Title-Shot Knuckle-Ball jig head for finesse fishing on lighter line are the best ways imho.
  21. Over the weekend, I had 3 fishing friends confirm that B.A.S.S. does give a 12" exemption while fishing in Florida. Lame I was watching the weigh-ins live on the internet and I saw a 10 and 11 oz bass brought in by co-anglers. I don't know if I could of swallowed my pride and bring it to the scales. are you kidding me? when the fishing is tough, a 12 inch fish or 10 ounces could mean the difference between winning and losing. cashing a check or going home broke. i will swallow my pride every time when there is money on the line. you must not tournament fish with that statement. Prime example was Classic in Pittsburgh. If you caught 3 ,12 inch fish a day you woudld have been in the Super 6.
  22. Could it have been a toothy critter? Also, did you really wet the line when you tied up the knot? I know if you don't it will break like how you described.
  23. Were there rattles on jigs Tony? Also chrome or red lipless cranks and heavy (1/2 oz) spinnerbaits with a big thumper (colorado) blade.
  24. Drop-shot, shakey heads, and tubes for clear water. And as a spinnerbait fisherman pick up some chartruese spinnerbaits will 2 chartruese willow blades. They should be banned in smallmouth waters. 8-)
  25. Chartruese is a great color anywhere. Especially in our clear water lakes. Smallies and largies love it. A chartruese spinnerbait with chartruese blades is a must have in every New England anglers box. It is known up here as the Winnipausake Special. 8-)
