A handy trick to save money during these tough times.
Also, to save money on beer... Donate blood and replace the traditional apple/orange juice with a brew. Had the effect of a bunch and you just helped people...

Nasty weather baits
Why ? They will not be as tight to cover.... :-/ Throw a double willow spinnerbait until your arms fall off around grass edges and any windy banks...

Steez and Yo Zuri Hybrid
If you have the money to buy a Steez setup, you can afford Sunline... ;D

Line size, drop shot?
6 pound Seaguar Invisx or Trilene 100% It does the trick and your drag should be loose anyway because of the types of hooks you use while drop-shotting. So it evens out...

Spinnerbaits and Trailer hooks
I always go with trailer hooks even though 95% of the time my War Eagles' hook is buried in their mouth. If you lost both at the boat I would say it wasn't necessarily a spinnerbait hook issue.... Did they jump prior to coming unbuttoned? How did they hit the spinnerbait? What kind of spinnerbait was it? Did you winch them in? (Wiching in a 3-4 pound fish along with the fishes strength will just tear a hole in the mouth and when given any slack will just fall out) :-?

Re: Open seat Saturday, Pond X
It should be an amazing trip, wish I could go....who ever does go just bring a drop-shot and you will beat up on old Paulie Walnuts. (A butt plug is also recommended)

Spinning outfit vs baitcast outfit for smallies
Tubes, drop-shot, jerkbaits = Spinning Spinnerbaits, spooks, jigs = Casting

People and their boat docks.
If you live on a lake it should be assumed you will have to deal with this. Just like jet-skis at sunrise when you want to sleep late or people blasting music at all hours of the night.

8ft rod restriction

LSU Fans
I really thought they were going to knock them off. Had UNC going down in the second round again.... But they didn't screw me half as much as WV.... dam you Jimzee...

8ft rod restriction
That was why, cant remember who the first was but I know Gary Klein had something to do with it as well.

what exactly does it take?
They will end up coming to you....

People and their boat docks.
I had a guy take the flag pole off his house and used it like a spear to throw at me after telling him he didn't own the water and catching a fish from under his dock. If they don't have a gun, I will keep fishing and usually I just ignore them.

Carrot stix choices?? Help me out please!!!
For shakey heads I like the 6'7" Medium spinning LTX
-
carrot stix for spinnerbaits
I love my 6'9" MH LTX for casting towards cover (logs/docks), it is just short enough and I love my 7'3" MH LTX for windy, wide open, water. I throw 1/3oz Mepps to 3/4oz War Eagles and it always feels good to me. Both rods have Revo S's on them.

Didn't take it that way. Actually the water was a little clearer yesterday than it has been and you could see empty empty beds in 5' or 6' of water as well as in the shallows. Like I said I'll keep watching for any more bass on the beds. Tin, the problem I have with going out throwing blades and cranks around is I always end up throwing a worm at the bank. It's not like I don't catch fish, which is sort of the problem. Since I know I can catch fish wacky rigging shallow that's where I end up probably 50% of the time I'm on the water. I pitch at the pads a lot but I would like to become a more versatile fisherman. I've hardly ever thrown a Carolina rig and never did the drop shot thing. These are the things I intend to work on this year. That is 90% of peoples' problems imo. Get off the bank, force yourself to fish offshore stuff. The fish are less pressured and you will probably see an increase in your average size. It's not all about catching fish in my book, it's learning. And by getting off the bank you will learn to fish off-shore stuff and catching fish while doing it, you will increase your abilities. You will also be able to use what you learn on this lake and apply it to others.
