The new craze up here in New England is the big 7-12" MC Slammers and guys do great on pressured as well as unpressured bodies of water. I think it is just because the fish have never seen them. :

Besides drop-shotting I use mine for small tubes on heads up to 1/4oz that have light wire hooks. And as for depth I pulled plenty of smallies out of 80'+ this year. On Lake George I acctually got one about 5-10' off the bottom in 117'.

Buddy and I each picked up an Ardent (don't remember model) at a show last year. Within about a months' worth of action (used it for pitching with 30 pound braid) it was shot to _____, making all sorts of noises and such. Didn't have the drag cranked down or really abuse it. Needless to stay I will stick to Abu. Hope you guys have better luck.

If I asked them for a new crank everytime one didn't run right or take on water and sink I would have dozens by now. But when their cranks are good, they work. I can deal with spend $6 to buy two cranks and know that one won't run right. Now if it was LC or Megabass I would be rip ____.
