Is this Legal???
As an insurance guy, I can tell you "call them up and go nuts," but do it nicely so they will listen. Advise them you received a bill for $1,900 and paid it (or whatever your minimum payment was). If your company has "rated you" (increased your premium due to some reason) they have to tell you what they are rating you on (ie speeding ticket, poor credit, etc). Keep in mind that rates do sometimes increase for everyone for no particular reason. Just the increased cost of doing business.

Who on BR would you like to fish with?
Who the hell is ever "in town" in Coeburn? Just kidding. I'd like to fish with some of the Virginia guys on the board. Unbeknownst to me, I stumbled past Basspro48 on the James River while smallie fishing one day. I didn't know it was him.

Who Cares?
When I was a kid, my dad made me watch every game with him. He'd turn on a game, and when a commercial came on switch the channel to another game. I got to where I hated sundays, monday nights, and some thursdays. Now I only watch football occassionally. I do like watching other offbeat sports - like x-games type sports. I like boxing and watching skating, and other olympic type sports. I do like Super Bowl commercials, though.

Did you have another hobby besides fishing?
I used to hunt, a lot. Now rarely do. It's gotten not-so-challenging. On top of that, land to hunt is getting harder to come by. People that had land no longer allow hunters due to constant trespassing and slob hunters littering. The only type of hunting I really enjoy anymore is spring turkey hunting, and small game, but I haven't done that in a awhile, either. My other outdoor passion is reptile hunting. I love snakes and have hunted them and kept them since as long as I can remember. I keep several now. I've rehabilitated quite a few that I've found injured. I've performed snake removal and relocation. I've even had the opportunity to take some graduate students out on a couple of occassions as a guide. My other "rainy day" hobby is history. Particularly WWII aviation history. I've assembled a very large library of books on the subject, and collect documents and search archives for tidbits of information. This is when the going gets good. Curiously, I've found more cottomouths before you get to that sign than beyond it.

What kinda rod should i buy??
Team All Star IM10 6'8" medium heavy/fast. This is a "spinnerbait" rod according to All Star, but it is a great multi-purpose rod. The tip is a little softer than the 6'6" model. It handles spinner baits, plastics, big deep cranks and big jerkbaits very well. As close to an "all-purpose" rod as I have ever seen.

Daiwa 153hsta VS. Revo SX
Sounds like a good deal. The SX is a great reel. I have 2 SXs, one on a Team All Star IM10 6'6" MH and the other on a Team All Star IM10 6'8" MH. The TAS IM10 6'8" MH is a great "all purpose" baitcaster (as close to all purposes as they come). All Star bills it as a spinnerbait rod. It will do that very well. The tip is a wee bit softer than my 6'6" MH. It will also handle big deep diving cranks and big jerkbaits very well. I've even used it to throw frogs and it does reasonably well at that, too. Tips a little soft for it, though, but it works in a pinch.

Shimano Curado 300/301 Overkill?
Isn't the 200 and the 300 the same size? I thought the only external size difference was the handle.

a good one man watercraft?
For that kind of money, I'd buy a small jon boat that I could load into the back of my truck. You can get wheels for the back edges. I think a small jon would be a much more versatile boat, and would cost less. Even with an electric motor. You can get a new 10' jon for $499 and still have enough left over for a 30lb thrust motor and battery (and a charger). http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2860 This will easily fit in the bed of a small pickup.

spawning pickerel
I live in Virginia and it's a little too early here. I think they start to spawn when the water gets into the 50s, usually in early to mid March here.

Croatian Northen pike

Tackle Bags
Those are great. I have some of the BPS versions. That's really all you need. My biggest requirement for a bag is to hold a lot of 370 boxes, and easy access.

what is......
If you take the time for clean one - carefully - they are incredibly tasty fish. Try one, they'll suprise you.

Need Help with buying Baitcasters
I thought Calcuttas had centrifugal brakes, except for the electronic model. :-?

Tackle Bags
I have several bags, but my biggest is a Gander Mountain bag (made by Flambeau) that holds a dozen 370 sized boxes. It is a soft bag with top access, and lots of pockets for gadgets. This is the biggest, along with the big Cabelas bag, that I know of. A lot of people use duffle bags to carry their boxes. My bag is nothing more than a glorified duffle.

Need Help with buying Baitcasters
I have a few Browning spinning rods and reels. I like them a lot. But for the price of the Midas baitcast reel, I think you can do better. I'd stick with one of the well known manufacturers - Abu Garcia, Shimano, Daiwa, etc - since they provide great customer service should you need it. Most of my baitcast reels are Abu Garcia. I have several Revos and EXTs. I also have a couple of Shimano Curados. They are all great reels. With a range of $100 - $250, you have a huge selection. My recommendation would be the Revo STX (in 6.4:1) for $199. The reel is light, ultra smooth, casts well, handles light baits well, is exceptionally well made, and Abu Garcia's customer service is excellent.

Avid wants a boat
Same here, that's how we got our name. The "low" in LBH used to be spelled "Lowe" after the boat we used. We've won saltwater tournaments in a 14 ft mod V Agreed. Shoot, my little 1548 with a 15hp (9.9hp pictured) handles moderate sized tidal rivers with ease. Best part is, I can get my boat into places, like among cypress trees, much easier than big boats. Might not be fast, but its economic, affordable, and manueverable. I'm not a tournament fisherman. It's perfect for what I want.

House brand equipment Likes and dislikes
I just came from BPS and messed around their the new Johnny Morris spinning reel. WOW! That thing is gorgeous and one of the smoothest reels I've ever cranked. Very impressive. I happen to like BPS rods. I include Browning among them since it's a BPS exclusive brand. Their cheap rods are competent and their high-ends rods are very good, indeed.
