  1. It's bigfoot. I told you he was from Mars. You said he was from Saturn.
  2. Donate it. Maybe you can pay DAV to come and get it. ;D
  3. I have a Sony DSC-H5. Sony makes fantastic cameras. Mines gotten two years of hard use chasing snakes in swamps and fields and never missed a beat. It's reliable, and sips power. It will take many, many pictures off two rechargeable AAs. The cycle time is very short which is very useful. Mine has a very close focal range. I can get inches from a subject and it focuses every time. Mine isn't the model you're looking at, but these are characteristics of all new Sony cameras.
  4. I got mine for $6.95. And they threw in a Revo to go with it. ;D
  5. The level wind on the C4 is non-disengaging. It moves when in free-spool. So cutting down friction there, and the in the gear that drives it, should also increase casting distance.
  6. That's the bag Abu was giving away as part of a promotion. And I'm not sure just what kind of bag it is. it isn't a boat bag or a tackle bag. more like and overnight bag, or a little duffle. My best deal: Walmart in fall. Beetle spins for $1.50 per lure. I picked up a whole strip of them - about ten lures per strip. They ended up selling the whole strip for $1.50. I bought about 20 more strips. I have enough beetle spins to last a life time.
  7. They ship dry. I'll have to oil them. The handle is the last thing I'm gonna do. It will look like a 5600C4 with a new handle. I was thinking about an older style metal Abu handle with wood grips. But the Bassart handles may look cool. I want something about the same lenght as what's on it, though.
  8. Now that I'll agree with. Yamamotos tear like wet toilet paper.
  9. I've never melted them down in a lab and tested the goo's specific gravity. So could be. But like I said, Lowe's Kobalt tools and Snap-On tools are made in the same factory and same dies - and Kobalt is crap and Snap-On is the best there is. So being made in the same factory and molds doesn't necessarily mean much.
  10. Are they the same formula? Kinami's seem more plasticy and smoother than Yamamotos. I think there is a difference, and not just in color.
  11. No. I like them too. Don't think they are the best out there, but, they work well for me and don't think the fish can tell the difference betweem an Eagle Claw and Gammy. I like some of them, too. Their weedless hooks are pretty good, and their small hooks for panfishing, like the Aberdeens, are very good.
  12. I'm upgrading my two Abu Garcia 5600C4 reels. I adding ceramic spool bearings, ceramic level wind bearing, ball bearing idler gear, Abu Rocket Brake system. I'm hoping to get significanlty longer casting and light-lure handling. Has anyone upgraded their reel to ceramic bearings? What sort of performance increases have you seen? (I know it's sort of late to ask, they've already been ordered.) Anyone know of any aftermarket handles that would fit the Abu Ambassadeurs? (Not the power handles.)
  13. Kinami is produced in the same factory as Yamamoto. Lowe's Kobalt tools are produced in the same factory as Snap-On tools. And there ain't no comparison. For me it's YUM plactics. At least until they stop pouring the salt-shaker on them. Bake it into the plastic, fine. But I hate reaching into a bag and having my fingers caked with the stuff. And Lobina Rico topwaters. There is nothing about these that justifies more than $4 to $5 bucks. Definately not worth $20.
  14. Rapalas and Bombers. Rapalas if I can only choose one.
  15. It is a step up from the Records. There's an Abu video on the EXT on You Tube: You Tube - EXT Reel You can Google up retailers.
  16. My favorite rod is a Fenwick. But if I ever bought something better, I'm willing to switch. But I really like my All Star American Classics. Great combination of sensitivity, strength, looks and price.
  17. Ja dieses wieder. Nicht ist es Spaß?
  18. Abu Garcia. Been using them since as early as I can remember. Currently own 15. As much as I like the newest Abus, my favorites are still my old reliable Ambassadeur C4s.
  19. Sam, what's the smallmouth situation like in the Rap in Fredericksburg in spring and summer?
  20. That's a great tip, Reelmech. I keep my tension knobs backed off at home but it may be something I wouldn't have thought of while fishing with them.
  21. The episode was about graphite fly rods. It's available for viewing on Joox.net. You may have to download the DivX viewer to see it (which is a good viewer to download anyways). Here it is: How It's Made - Graphite Fly Rods
  22. EEEK. In Febuary? It's gonna be cold. There is a decent chance everything will to be frozen. The Rappahannock River runs through Fredericksburg. Motts Run reservoir is in Frederiskburg. Those will be your closest options. Check this Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website page: VDGIF Website Here is a pic of the Rappahannock River at the I-95 overpass in winter.
  23. I bought them at a local hunting/fishing store called Green Top in Richmond, Virginia.
