Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
Hybrid's good stuff. It's great around pilings and rocks. I think it stretches less than Trilene XL. But it does stretch - no getting around that.

Are They Brilliant or NUTS!?
I haven't seen anything that has been "embarrassing." All these observations by US officials appear to be very intuitive. I mean, how much thought do you have to put into the China-Korea relationship? China supports North Korea on the surface. But North Korea is a "taker" country. They offer nothing in return. And China is not interested in that kind of relationship with anyone. And a some of the communications tell me our concerns about other countries are right where they are supposed to be. This nonsense about "spying" on UN officials: I'd be more shocked and appalled if we weren't.

Are They Brilliant or NUTS!?
From what I've seen, I give all these "revelations" a great, big HO HUM. German Chancellor Merkel is a bit stiff and not so energetic. Big surprise - not. Everyone near Iran hates them. Coulda guessed that. Democracy is dead in Russia. You have to be a nimrod not to have seen that. One of the Royal Family is rude. Well, every family has an ***hole in it. The Saudi King is actually a pretty good US supporter. He oughta be. We help keep him ion power. The British had some mishap in Afghanistan. So did we. China really doesn't like North Korea very much. I don't like it when I have a pimple on my butt, either. All this stuff adds up to a great, big BIG DEAL.

ardent flipin pitch reel
I don't understand why someone would want to limit themselves with such a highly specialized niche reel.

Is Hot Sauce oil all I need????
You can do this if you want, but it will reduce the effectiveness of the brake. The brake will work better with a dry, clean brake drum.

A Bait Saved From a Terrible Fate! (and they're on sale!)
Yo-Zuri makes awesome lipless cranks. If you come across any, try the Yo-Zuri Hardcore Shad. I think it is not only the best Yo-Zuri lipless, but one of the best regardless of manufacturer.

Jersey "Guidos" and Terrorism
Either the new crop of terrorists look like "******," or "******" are getting their fashion cues from Somali terrorists. Proof(?): Somali-born terroist Mohamed Osman Mohamud who tried to blow up an Oregon Christmas Tree lighting ceremony (left). And a few Jersey boys (right). You be the judge.

Handguns
Tanfoglios are great. I used to own (I "used to own" too many gun that I wish I still had) two Tanfoglios. A European American Armory Witness in .45 ACP. Fit and finish were superb, and it was as accurate a .45 as I ever had. It was big, though. And I had a Springfield Armory P9 made by Tanfolgio. Another nice, all steel pistol with great fit and finish. I do like my CZs. They are a lot of gun for the money. My next CZ will be a CZ97B .45ACP. I haven't fired any real full-house loads in the SP-101. The only .357 Mag rounds I've fired are the Remington Golden Sabres (125 gr) which are apparently loaded a little cooler for these types of revolvers. When I carry, it's usually loaded with Remington .38 +P 125gr SJHP, or Remington +P 158gr Lead SWCHP.

Handguns
Man, Russbert, I could never visit your house. Between the reels and guns, I'd never leave. Nice guns. I've only owned one .38 Super and I kick myself to this day for selling it. It was a stainless "enhanced" Colt Commander. I don't handload and finding ammo was a royal pain, but not impossible. But what a shooter it was. I'll buy another .38 Super one day - a basic blued Colt Government. I've still got quite a quantity of ammo, mainly Winchester white box and Winchester Silver Tip HPs. My handgun collection is a fraction of what it once was. I just don't shoot to the extent I used to. But I still maintain a few handguns - just in case. Among them are these - my primary concealed carry guns. And occassionally...

Mossberg 500
If you want an elegant, supremely well-made shotgun, get the Ithaca Model 37. If you want a simple shotgun, avoid the Ithaca Model 37. I have one, a Featherlight with a 26" fixed choke (improved cylinder) barrel. The gun is fantastic. It's made the way guns used to be made. All forged steel. The problem is breaking it down. Field stripping (removing the barrel) is easy. A complete breakdown is a supreme pain in the ***. It requires removing the stock. It is not a simple task. Parts are screwed in instead of pinned in like the Mossberg and Remington. A complete cleaning is quite an undertaking. I have owned a couple of Browning pump shotguns. These are very well made guns. They are produced by Miroku in Japan, a very old and well respected gun maker. Miroku has made Browning guns for many years. The BPS is an exceptional gun. The bluing is the best in the business. It has bottom loading and eject. It is easier to break down than the Ithaca. The vent rib is higher than the ribs on the Remington and Mossberg and I can get a nicer picture over it than with either of the other two. The top safety is nice, too. Highly recommend the BPS.

Will BPS accept this?
If you blow $500 in BPS, you must have a BPS Rewards Card. Just present that. That has a record of your purchase so you won't need a receipt.

Did you ever buy a lure/lures that just didn't catch anything???
The Jitterbug. But I hope my luck is changing. I've been fishing for almost 40 years and have owned jitterbugs for most of those. No matter where, when or how I fished them, I never caught a single, solitary thing, until this year. I finally caught my first jitterbug bass, and my largest of the year - a tad over 5 lbs. I don't catch many fish on spinnerbaits. And I've never caught any bass on buzzbaits and have gotten rid of the few I owned.

North Korea: The Fortress Nation (and fun with Google Earth!)
You ought to read the news they post on their Korean Central News Agency (KNCA) website. Here's a teaser... Obama slanders DPRK The imperialist chieftain trendy Obama(note his intials BO) has slandered the great DPRK whilst in Seoul for the rubbishy farce of the G20.Obama says the same about the DPRK as Bush and even US presidents of the 1950s.This proves the US imperialist system does not change one iota The DPRK that is the real power on the Korean peninsula not the south Korean puppet regime that is more and more dependent on the US and Japan all the time. The DPRK is the dignified independent socialist power of Songun that Obama should not dare to insult. The DPRK socialist system centred on the masses provides the people with an independent and creative life with free health care, education, jobs and houses. It is the south Korean people that live in misery and poverty many of them homeless or living in slums. One day the US imperialists will pay dearly for slandering the DPRK and its Juche socialist system

Mossberg 500
The Mossberg 500 is a good gun - tough and reliable. In terms of reliability, there is no practical difference between in and an 870. The only disadvantage the 500 has over the 870 is if you want to lengthen the magazine. If you do, you have to buy a new barrel. The reason is because the lug on the barrel screws into the end of the magazine. On the 870, its a band that slips around the magazine. On an 870, you can buy a magazine extension and use it with any barrel.

Just perspective. He has a fairly symetrical 8-point rack. Not huge, but not bad for the neighborhood buck.

North Korea: The Fortress Nation (and fun with Google Earth!)
NK is like a step back in time... Korean War vintage bombers Post-World War II tranport aircraft... And Russian or Chinese copies of American aircraft... And then there is this wierd structure speculated to be a hanger for fighter planes under a mountain with runways that extend out of openings...

This guy thinks my property belongs to him!
This guy has been pretty aggressive about cruising for chicks in my yard. He'll scarcely walk away from you when you approach him.

North Korea: The Fortress Nation (and fun with Google Earth!)
The mounds are traditional Korean burial sites. There are ground-level photos of these "traditional" burial mounds on the net. What you can't see from the ground are the vast areas they take up.

North Korea: The Fortress Nation (and fun with Google Earth!)
If you are one of the elite, you get to play on the above water slide. If you are one of the millions of poor peasants, you get to live in villages like this. All those bumps are thought to be burial mounds. They sprung up by the tens of thousands following the famine in the late 90's. Each mound is thought to hold 5-10+ bodies. There are dozens of them scattered across the country.
