Joe, great job catching the new PB, that is one beautiful looking bass. It is pretty cool that you got your fiance to go out and enjoy the time with you. That lake is a real nice peaceful setting where you can really enjoy nature. One again CONGRATS!!!!!

I like the XPS, I have caught a lot oof nice size bass with them.

I caught bass in every month except January.

Sam, I most likely will not be back at BPS until next month. We do need to hook up and fish one day soon though.

Here is the one that was on steriods and attacked the buzzbait, man was I shocked.

I fished a sweet little pond today that I got permission to fish and I caught a total of 20 fish. The top five fish went 14lbs 10ozs. The only bite I could get going today though was on Manns -1 in a red crawfish color/pattern and a Cavitron buzzbait in ghost minnow color. The biggest bass went 4lbs 10ozs and I caught it on the buzzbait. She was a lot of fun because the water was clear and I got to watch her attack and then inhale the buzzbait. I set the hook and had one fun time trying to land her watching her run back and forth across the pond in the clear water. I had to re-tune the buzzbait after catching her as she bent it up a bit. After I let her go I caught another fish on the next cast on the same buzzbait, I think it was on steriods. Here is the big bass of the day.

Sorry you feel that way and I hope you try the other baits because Big O has done a great job providing baits for us that catch bass. I have been fishing these baits since they came out with a lot of success and I know that there are numerous ways to fish each of the baits, including the toads. I know the keel weighted hooks do in fact help and that they change the dynamics of the bait a bit. However I am still having success using the keel weighted hooks. When I am not using a keel weighted hooks I just let the bait stop for a couple of seconds and then start reeling and the toad rights itself. I use a 5/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook with these toads.

I have had really good luck using the chunks as trailers on my jigs. Prior to using these chunks I wasn't catching many bass on jigs. I believe the action of the chunks is the reason I am catching more bass on jigs now.

You should try using the keel weighted hooks, it should solve the running upside down issue for you. The toads run much better using them with the keel weighted hook.

Congrats on catching your first fish on a jig. I was unable to catch any bass on a jig until I started using the Rage Tail chunks this year. I had tried numerous trailers prior to that and never caught any bass and was ready to give up..
