Four Year Low For Oil
We were at 1:36 per gallon but now it is almost 1.50 a gallon, my guess is they raised it to make money from the holiday travelers.

Four Year Low For Oil
I wonder when OPEC will have another meeting to try and shock the market since the 2.2 million barrel production cut failed to halt the slide of crude oil.

Strike King King Shad
Thanks for the info Primus. I may buy one for this weekend since the lake I am fishing has had some striper top water action in the last week.

Strike King King Shad
Has anyone tried the Strike King King Shad bait yet? If so what do you think of it? I was looking at them but they are $20 each and I want to hear how they work before I go out and spend that much on one of these baits.

Lake Anna
Thanks Wayne. I just got this from Charlie at NHBA, they fished there last weekend and he was able to provide some good information to me. Most of the fish were taken on soft plastics (Senkos, Baby Brush Hogs and other assorted creature baits), deep diving crankbaits and small spinnerbaits. The spinnerbaits were slow-rolled in the grass on the upper end of the lake, crankbaits were retrieved very slowly on drops adjacent to docks and the plastics were fished everywhere, both shallow and deep. The hot side gave up a bunch of fish on points, docks and rip-rap. The same baits took the fish there. In addition, Rat-L-Traps were the big ticket on the points. Plastics around docks and Carolina rigged in deep water. One other bait that should work, but nobody tried it, is a spoon. I have always had good luck with a Hopkins 1/2-3/4 oz. Shorty spoon and a 5/8-3/4 oz. Silver Buddy. Both of these baits produce very well for me. Last trip out on the Occoquan River on Dec. 6, my partner and I caught over 100 bass on Silver Buddys in 12-18 feet of 41 degree water.

Lake Anna
Jason and I have been reviewing the Lake Anna map, the fishing reports and the weather and we have picked out a few places to try fishing at. I have never had much luck at this lake in the past but I haven't fished at all in the last six weeks and I have cabin fever now, so I fiigure why not make the trip. We made this trip last winter and got skunked but we still had a good time. I think we will be better off this time since we have been preparing for this trip. If I don't catch any it is ok I will still be happy to be able to get out on the water again with my son.

Lake Anna
Has anyone fished Lake Anna lately? I am going fishing there this weekend and I am curious what types of baits are working down there this time of year. I will be fishing down near Dike 2 & 3 and I am hoping to catch a few. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated, I know the folks fishing the winter series tournaments look like they are still catching some nice bass.

KVD-Sexy Shad Kit
I like the kit but I think I could save money if I buy the baits individually and I may look into doing that after the holidays.

inflatable PFD's - Mustang, Sospenders, etc.
I have the SOSpends Autos and when I need to count on them they worked great. I flipped a canoe with my son and I in it and the PFDs inflated fast and possibly saved our lives. We were in heavy clothing with boots on when the canoe flipped quite a way from shore. I can not stress enough how important it is that everyone wear a PFD.

Lilly pad lures
I like throwing the Rage Tail toads in the pads and I have had a lot of success with them this year.
-
are worms and jigs enough or do i need a lot of other lures
I like keeping my options open by carrying a lot of different baits. I let the conditions dictate what I throw.
-
Hook Bonnets
I use them so I can fit more baits in each of the storage compartments. I can carry a lot more baits with a smaller tacklebox when I use them.

Bait Monkey Attack!
Those are some nice looking spinnerbaits.
