Have you guys tried using rabbit skin w/ the fur on? trout ppl use it but i think it would be deadly too on bass fishing

shipping varies, but so far, i got my cranking stick in 2 days from BPS :T that's super fast

timing is different than a spinning combo. I just got the hang of it after a day. Don't give up!

O_O, what was the action type for the rod? Did u set your drag? I read on BPS reviews where someone bought a rod and a catfish bit on and snapped his rod the first day. He took it back in and complained and he got it replaced. Good luck with that. I have a BPS special tourny rod and a crankin rod :T they are working well so far. What the hell did you catch? LOL (the biggest thing i caught in a private pond was a snow shovel ;D)

wow, i got this friday, went fishing with it for 2 days beautiful. Noob becoming pro in baitcastin! Im casting so much further my revo S reel. It's much smoother. Only thing is that it backlash further. I don't mind since the more backlash i'll get, the more i have to concentrate on practicing thumbing anyway. I am going to have to take apart my revo S, clean it up, and re lube it to give it another chance. It might just need some lubing since i started out practicing with it for about 2 weeks before i have gotten the SC. But the SC is NICE ^^ and ditto about cabelas shipping fast. BPS is not bad too, but i got this in 3 days! <3

Here is my explaination because I have carpal tunnel syndrome My friend bought me a abu garcia revo s and i selected to have a left hand reel because all my spinning oufits were left handed. I haven't been fishing for a while, but when i got this reel, i tried my hardest to learn how to cast a bait casting with a 6.5 ft rod. Believe me, it'll get tiring and the pain on my arm sucks :T Last weekend when i went to BPS, i bought a BPS baitcasting combo because i just wanted the rod, but the reel was really cheap. It only came with right hand reels, so.. what ever. I tested it out any way and i felt more comfortable using my left hand. Instead of casting and holding the reel/rod with my right hand, i am allowed to swap over and let my casting arm relax. So in my opinion, they made it retrieve right hand is so that you can save your energy and reduce fatigue in your right hand so you don't have to cast and hold on to the big rod I can be completely wrong.... but, take it from a person who have trouble typing and playing tennis due to pain on the right arm...

yes sir! i am doing pretty good now. Before i got my baitcaster, my spinning rod sucked. My lil bro always casted further than me with his spinning outfit. But rite now i can cast with 10 feet from his cast! I cant' wait till i reduce the amount of brakes on the reel. Btw, are there other casting methods used with the baitcaster? I noticed the guide linked talked about the overhead casting. How about side casting? let's get specific LOL what angle? ;D

same boat as you, i was at BPS yesturday at MD and i got the BPS special tourny baitcasting outfit (i missed the 30 dollar special btw ) im doing pretty good infact by reading articles mentioned above. One thing to keep in mind, please adjust your reel each time you change your lure! I funnily (funny + ly = funnily LOL) hooked a frog yesturday and then i decided to cast it out without re-adjusting, ended up with the biggest backlash of the day! Wanted to use the frog >_< i let it go to fix it and some huge brown fish jumped up and ate it i think! anyway good luck, i'll be needing my luck too
