  1. Hey guys thanks for all the tips never hurts to try something new.
  2. Hello fellas I just wanted to share with you all two lures that have worked out for me. I sometimes do not like to throw away my used or worn lure so I put them together and experiment a bit to see what bites when I am out on the lake. The second is a Hopkins spoon 3/4 oz that I have attached a Robo finess worm on a 1/0 EWG Gatsu hook. I use this rig near rock walls and dams. I just cast out at the base wall or dam, let it sink and bounce slowly on the floor all the way back to the boat. Or I just jig it up and down just below the boat. I have caught a 6lb LB from 30-40 ft depth. The first is a 1/4 oz jig head that I attached rubber strings and a Robo finess worm. I cast this out let it sink and wait about 5 minutes before I retrieve slowly bouncing off the bottom. I always get alot of hits with this one. I have pulled some nice SB from 3-5lbs no B.S. Anyways guys fish on and fight them hard. I have a upcoming trip and will post some pics if I catch any. Sorry I did not have camera on me to show ya what I have pulled out with these two lures. #1 #2
  3. Sorry to bother and ask but is there a sponsor page? I would like to give my support and buy tackle from people that support the website. I keep looking but I can not find it. I have seen some in the above banner but was wondering if all are listed some where here on the website? Sorry to bother asking, just can not find it..
  4. Just wanted to see how some of you guys go about to set up your drag. I have always set up my drags at 1/3 of the test. To be honest it is until bass fishing that I have really gotten into properly setting my drags on my rods. I think back at all the good fish I should have brought in but rather lost due to a bad drag setting, fresh and saltwater. So lets hear how you go about setting the right drag.
  5. [bass Wisdom, by Homer Circle] I picked up this book and could not put it down. It is a great great book to read. This book covers a lot to do with bass fishing. A must read for novice and pro. Tip.. check out your public libary, that's were I found this book. I read the whole thing from front to back. It is that good of a book. I would say if you have a fishing libary this is a must for the collection. My 2 cents...
  6. Good to know thanks fellas..
  7. Have any of you had any luck wacky rigged from shore? Just wondering if anybody fishes wack from shore with any luck. It would seem that from a overhead position would work best for this rig.
  8. Hey nice fish, where did your buddy get that tackle fanny pack? Looks kinda cool but I have never seen one like that around here..
  9. Thanks guys, I really hope to hone my bass fishing skills. Thank god there is this great site to learn from.

  11. Hello guys I am a newbie to the world of bass fishing, but not to fishing. Just wanted to introduce myself to say hello, give my short story and say this is a great site. Like I said I am a newbie so this is my third outing in search of bass. My first a disapointment my second a learning experience and now my third a great experience. I have read and reserached alot about bass fishing from my first outing and it paid off the third time ;D Well I landed a nice 3-4lb largemouth bass, no joke. It happened as the wind turned and the flow of the water started comming in my direction. I was on the bank with my nephew. He went up to the lodge to get a drink and bam a good fight followed. I was working a 5in. senko slow and bounching it off the bottom as I retrieved slowly. I felt a lite pull and I set the hook, the fight was on. My reel screamed and the bass jumped and pulled. At one point my senko flew off in one direction and I thought I lost him but he was still on. As I tired him out I thought, how am I going to land him. I had no net and the shore was so muddy that to walk on it you would sink. At that time my nephew came running and with his help we landed him. I was excited and so proud of my catch. I have fished halibut, stripper, trout, salmon, perch and nowhere did I feel such excitement and joy as I did fishing, fighting and landing that bass. I did release him and took my time to make sure he was good to go. My only disapointment is that I did not have a camera to take a picture :-[ Either way I will always remember that day and now I have the bug. Thats my newbie story.... Thanks you guys for all the information, tips, reviews, techniques, they have help me a lot and I am still learning..
