  1. 57% left 44% right Although the description given doesnt seem to describe me IMO
  2. Ham radio is my other hobby, but mostly during the winter months. My church owns a low power TV station that can take up alot of my time with video editing and technical difficulties. I never seem to run out of things to do. Rarely watch television anymore except the news, but I dont miss it.
  3. The wife and I are doing our first total thanksgiving dinner this year. Well her mostly, my only requirement is to stay out of the way ;D For the 15 years we have been married we have always had thanksgiving at her or my grandparents house. Well they have all rested now so its up to us now. So I guess it will be baked this year. Will get into other methods as time goes by.
  4. I have had days when I would like to have traveled to a fishing spot further down the road but didnt because of the gas prices. Went to the local fishing spot instead. I havent just stayed home because of gas prices yet. Gas here in south entral Okla droped to 2.99 today. Cold front along with 20 to 30mph winds arrived today also. :'(
  5. Ive thrown my entire rod and reel in the water three times this year. I duno how it happens but it just leaves my hand unexpectedly.
  6. I have a jon almost like this. Its 11"9" in length. I have been very tempted to remove the aluminum benches also and mount in two pedestal seats on a plywood floor like yours but was unsure how the boat would hold up under a two person load in the water. Would the hull try to fold in? Not sure just how strong it is. Wouldnt want to find out the hard way. Guess I should post some pictures and get some opinions. I faced some challenges getting mine registered as it had been registered in another state by who knows. It helps if you know a crooked notary public. Seeing yours makes me wonder if there would be some way one could put two seats on a track so they could be adjusted accordingly.
  7. My wife is not into it as much as I am but she loves to go. I leave her at home mostly cause she always catches the bigger fish and GLOATS about for weeks. : : : : :
  8. Well at least now we know what you been doing {besides fishing}. ;D Congratulations!
  9. Try some of this to help your healing process. I have purchased it at a local health food store but i suppose you could buy it at walmart or some other drugstore. It works! http://www.msmguide.com/
  10. Punkin Chunkin sounds like alot of fun but none of that here in Oklahoma that Im aware of. I had a short interest in potato launchers for a while. Im a little too mischevious for such things so I got rid of it before it got me in some serious trouble
  11. Here is a yum crawbug rigging demo found on google. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3089997722209916548&q=yum+crawbug&total=1&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
  12. This was caught on a 6 inch watermellon blackflake Senko, bounced off of a stump in a cove with 6 foot deep water. This is as high as my son pictured here would hold him up for fear of the fish slapping him in the face. He learns from his experiences well. Same fish in the avitar.
  13. I go fishing about 3 to6 times per week mostly in the afternoons and evenings. Try to spend about 2 hours a day on weekdays and 4 hours a day on weekends. I have three lakes within about 8 to 10 miles of my home. Wind direction, wind speed and the guest with me will determine which lake I go to. I just aquired a small jon boat so lately Ive been trying to concentrate on one lake trying different spots and setups.
  14. Its got to be spiders for me and then snakes. Im ok with being in the same general area with them so long as they keep their distance. If a snake fell out of a tree and landed on me {like what happened to Bill Dance on one of his fishing blooper videos} My heart would need to be restarted.
  15. It seems the worst part of winter doesnt hit here until January to February. I havent fished in about 8 years prior to this year so with a growing up 6 year old boy in the house I decided this year I would fish every chance I got and start teaching him in the process and so that is exactly whats been happening. I plan on fishing the two small city lakes closest to me as long as I can, weather depending which is something I have never done before. Ive always tappered the fishing off at about october or so untill I discovered the website. Now I feel like I have a PHD in bass fishing. Never knew so much bass fishing information existed. It will be interesting to take note of how the fishing changes take place on these two lakes as winter approaches. Not really sure though how bad the daylight savings times are going to affect fishing time during the week. I get off work at 5, a little earyler sometimes. and that leaves me with about just less than 2 hours of fishing time before sunset right now. Guess I will find a good use for that remaining vacation time after all. ;D
  16. I had some of the same questions earlyer this month. Check out LBHs boat I think this is the correct link below. If not then maybe someone else can point you to the right post. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119359773/0 I was faced with a 12 foot aluminum jon boat that looked really bad from being out in the elements for so long. The aluminum had never been painted and was black in places. I used some aluminum wheel etching cleaner I bought at the local Autozone {about 6 bottles of it to be exact}. Combine that with a brass wire brush, water, and lots of elbow grease it cleaned the boat quite nicely. I later had it painted with Sherman Williams industrial flat brown paint. Not exactly the color I wanted but it was a free. Also FYI I stopped by the Line X dealer today to price getting the bottom of this same boat coated. To my surprise there was a boat that he was working on that was coated on the inside as well but the inside coating was light grey and it looked really good. I thought only black was available but apparently you can make it any color you want. Even HOT PINK!
  17. If you go to www.palmgear.com and search fishing you may find one there. Might or might not be free. If you have Documents to Go installed on your unit then you might be able to build a spreadsheet to suit your needs. If your not familiar with spreadsheets then maybe you know an office person or secretary who might be willing to build you one.
  18. Took a good look at LBHs Jon boat thread posted above. Very Impressive!!! Definately gave me some good ideas to work with. The undercoating {Rhinoliner} is a great idea and a must have for the boat that Im working on considering its current condition. I didnt know this stuff existed in a can. The local autozone store here stocks it. Appreciate all the input from everyone. It will take me forever to read through all the info on this website.
  19. I ended up using some aluminum mag wheel cleaner and a brass wire brush. It smells lika a light acid mixture. It made the aluminum shine like new. Going to Sherman Williams today to see what type of primer and paint I need.
  20. I have aquired a really old aluminum 12ft jon boat that is in serious need of a cosmetic makeover. It has alot of water stains inside and out from being on the water so long and the inside has also held water for a while it seems. Just wondering what type of detergent or what, I need to use to make the aluminum surface shiny again or prepare it for painting? Repainting it army green seems to be the best solution for now.
