  1. its a good question " DID HIS FISH REALLY WEIGH THAT MUCH??" noone will ever know the truth except perry himself. with that said the pic doent really look like a 22lb bass but i have never seen one that big in person so who am i o judge. one thing that could be possible is what if feild and stream set the bar that high and perry just so happened to be the lucky guy who got chosen to represent the world record bass?? it may have been a 13 lb, 15lb or even 22lb's i guess noone will ever really kno. but, it will be broken im sure. thats what records are for. " made to be broken"
  2. first off let me say sorry for the loss that your family has encountered. cancer truely is a horrible thing. this is a great post spanky. my dad wasnt around much and only did stuff with us when it was conveinient for him. hes still like that to this day. only visits my son, his only grandchild as of right now when he is sober or needs me to do something for him. i have had a deep resentmen for him for a long time. i have nor never will put my son through the things he has put me and my sister through. i was fortanate enough to have an uncle who was deeply obsessed with fishing and taught me pretty much everything about it and i lost contact with him after thing didnt work out with my aunt and him. i have made a personal vow to myself to be evrything my father wasnt for my son and be their for him even if something ever happens between me and my wife. Spanky i congragulate your father for being a wonderfull person, sounds like a stand up guy and again great post.
  3. Dance,Clunn and Ike for the pros. on a personlal level its my uncle. spent plenty of time fishing old hickory and percy preist with him and we could throw the same lure and hed outfish me atleast 5 to 1 unbeleivable. i always thought well its his lake im not familiar with it and he couldnt do it to me back home in ky on my regular lakes. well , i was wrong he did better here than at his home lakes. always looked up to him for teaching me and showing me what my dad would never and hes the reason im addicted to fishing.... 8-)
  4. i think Zona has one of the three best shows on air. WGFS , Bass Poros , and i always will like Bill Dance Outdoors. 1instripes, I almost fell out of my chair when i seen the avatar! LOL
  5. alger319, i sent you a PM. hope this helps a little.
  6. i will more than likely get a loomis. i just wanted to get some opinions on other rods as well. i have never owned a loomis but i have heard good and bad things about them. everyone seems to have an opinion on them, they either like or dislike them. i am going to go look at BPS in indiana this weekend but i want to check out a guy here local and see what his rods are liks. he uses a all star blank and customizes to your needs. he charges around $200 and from what i have heard from a few guys they are much more comfortable and lighter than the looomis but again that is just hearsay. ill check the post for more sugestions and post back this weekend on what i decided.
  7. i am guilty of a lot of theese but i planned my honeymoon around fishing. we ended up staying in nashville for three days and one of them(the first day) i spent it fishing percy preist before heading to Geargia for five days where i spent two of them fishing lake laneir. she didnt realize it until i had hooked up the boat the morning after the wedding. i got an ear full for a day or so but it waorked out cause we are still married 9 years 7 years later.
  8. im going to get a new rod to use for jigs and worms. other than a loomis what other rods would you guys/gals suggest. trying to keep it under $300.00. would love to hear what everyone would recomend based on expeirience using different rods. Thanks in advance for you input.
  9. i have been pitching a jig in the yard now for around a month!! but, today i got out and fished a local creek for smallmouth. no fish and i lost one of my favorite jigs and a s e x y shad wild shiner. but it felt good to actually cast into fish inhabited water, beats casting around dog poo in the backyard
  10. great show and love the format. amazing that duckett won after kelley killed them with that spoon. is that what kind of spoon that is? Fishinjay

  12. they work good on schooling fish. look at a kastmaster made by acme lures. i like the one with the bucktail on it. if you can find fish schooling throw it out there and bounce up and down back to the boat and it is sometimes a deadly tactic for almost any kind of fish. Fishinjay
  13. just wanted to see how everyone rigs and fishes with tubes ? i have wanted to try using them for a while but just lack confidence in them. ive seen some guys have great sucsess using them and wanted to get a starting point. Thanks, Fishinjay
