  1. Just to warn anybody, that picture of the standard spot remover on the bass pro website is yet another one of their product misreprentations. You will not get whats pictured at least if you get 1/8 or 1/16 oz in these.I called them and they told me that these are what they carry now,and I said someone needs to update the website because these new ones are pieces of s---. heres the pic. you cannot put a thin bait on these like a finesse worm it rips it and the prongs stick out the sides thus catching debris or weeds etc. I bent mine down with pliers and they are okay, but the spike keeper is much better.
  2. Just like when I went to Dicks yesterday to pick up 1 pack of hooks I needed.I had no intention on anything else, nor did I have anything else that I NEEDED in mind.Walked out after spending another 54 dollars on hardbaits and plastics.
  3. the frog colored popper is pretty cool looking, buts thats as far as I can go identifying it.
  4. I use the zip ties too, also try a piece of 80-100 lb braid secured with square knots.
  5. maybe it went over my head... Do you pour all the bbs out or glue them in place??
  6. Quite possibly. Good story LOL, when I pictured that I got a good chuckle
  7. I can see how that would probably be true.I have been using it as a crank and have been successful only in hauling water by the bucket with it.It looks just like a shad rap so I work it like one.I may now give it a few more tries working it like a jerker.
  8. I think he is asking about the x rap shap rap cranks that just came out. I own a few of them and I too am curious as to the best way to use it.
  9. Thats always a great thing to have around, and I'm sure the monkey will be pleased too .What can you really get at wal-mart or k-mart? You been in one, you've been in them all.Same with dicks, but their selection will vary slightly by region.Around here all the shops carry 70-80% saltwater crap including dicks.
  10. the chart/purple back is similar looking but is better than the hot mustard in stained water imo
  11. hmm... lemme look that up on websters BRB. : Ok,got the definition.Yes I suppose that is exactly what it is.Never quite seen a bait with a curved body like that.Doesnt wiggle on freefall like a stickbait, but swims really cool when twitched or reeled across the top.
  12. those things just look insane 10.00 maybe for the heck of it,but 10 and shipping? Nah, this aint basstrix
  13. I tried to squash that bug on my screen. :
  14. I fish all small lakes and ponds.I burn out when the fish get burned out, when it seems as though they all just dissapeared. Then feel totally burned, until I find a new spot then I beat it to oblivion and feel better.
  15. That.....Is some funny azz s--t Dave
  16. www.mitchellseels.com these should catch on big in weedy lakes in florida.Ive been using them in a few ponds that I have beat to death and the bass just litterally crush em. A few small twitches and it looks soo super in the water.
  17. The power of the monkey is so strong with plastics.I think the greater percent of us have wayyyy to many that we will never use.All the colors, and especially the new styles really get me.There will always be more new plastics as long as people keep dreaming them up lol. Innovative? I just got some SK Rage shads and toads.Definately in a new class by themselves.
  18. Im curious too, cuz when I throw a jig it repels every bass within a hundred yards :'(
  19. Ya,no s--t.It cost 1.50 or less to ship a lure LOL. To quote one other member(forget who) on the last thread about this lure: "one word..... RIDICULOUS"
  20. Of any of the negative things written here I agree with them all.Certain gulp baits are killer for walleye though.(you think bass can be finicky!) The price is what gets me the most. You think GYCB is expensive? These rip up even easier, can never reuse them, and for the price of 2 packs you can buy a quality hard bait that will catch dozens of bass.
  21. Hey Muddy,I believe there are some articles on this site somewhere(dont have time now) that tell a few ways to build some structures,Like using concrete and pvc pipes,to make better fish attracting and more snag resistant cover. One thing I hate about pallets and trees sometimes is you better have a lure retriver handy. I really like the ice idea.Really never thought about it before .Now I live in FL,so I wont be doing that anytime soon. You could make a really large structure and slide it out on the ice with a few sleds or use a amall vehicle such as an atv or snowmobile.
  22. If you fish ponds you are going to need some 4's and also some flat 3.colors pretty much boils down to what you have confidence in,what works on my water may not be the ticket for you.I own every color in dt 3,4,6,7 and most of the 10's. It seems though that there are four colors that I constantly use the most on my lakes.I use two hot colors, and two shiny ones,chart/purple back, parrot, olive flash, and silver are my deadly four.
  23. Yep,you said it in my opinion.Theres no shame in throwing a good quality 8.00 rapala. They tend to last a long time.
  24. COOL BAITS,thanks for sharing. At first I was like...."what in the holy hell is the guy talking about??!!"
  25. have to throw the obvious here.It must be a spotted bass
